Tolles Video:) Ich verstehe garnicht, wieso sich so viele über die mögliche Verzögerung aufregen. Natürlich baut man in China oder den USA einfacher und damit schneller eine Fabrik als in Deutschland. Dafür gibt es in Deutschland gescheite Gesetze. Der Artenschutz/Naturschutz spielt eine Rolle, Bedenken von Anwohnern und Naturschutzverbänden werden geprüft und weiteres. Es ist ein Fehler, sowas zu kritisieren. Obwohl Natürlich die Genehmigung sehr viel länger braucht als geplant. Selbst, wenn das Projekt erst Ende 21 oder später ferig wird, ist es eine unglaubliche Leistung.

Production start was always only scheduled for July. Trial production in May. And that they set up a temporary gas station (4:18) for the Giga Presses makes only sense if they want to start tests with them before the connection to the gas network is ready. Which is also already worked on.

@@johnmathew3423 The completion of the casting section is covered by a permit granted on 13. July 2020. There are anyway no "half permits" like that one could only build half of a roof. And anything permit-related has to be published. There is no Germany inside Germany. You're underestimating the competition of the German federal states (which are in their cores ways older than Germany). And the decisions are solely made on the state (Brandenburg), district (Dahme-Spree) and town (Gründheide) levels. The Federal Republic has no say at all. The only exception the new autobahn exit for Tesla, as the autobahns are federal highways. The exit is however already finished for weeks (only the connection street on the property of Tesla is still missing). And Brandenburg has no other car industry to protect. This will be their carmaker. Thus I expect we will also see soon Tesla police cars. Like there are also Ford police cars in North-Rhine Westphalia. Albeit also the German Federal Police is driving Fords.

Don't see much progress in the casting or stamping areas. Is this true or just a superficial impression. According to many of the comments below, bureaucracy is slowing the pace. Is is true? Where can one find reliable information, not just rumors?

The final construction permit, for the lack of the correct term for it, seems to be taking its time through the bureaucratic maze. The powers to be, aka the government and various departments are very supportive. Hopefully in a month or two, hence the slow pace.

@@wadeyoungsr.887 Thanks for this info...I hope this Tesla factory is not being "slow walked" because it might impact those companies that are identified as "national champions" by their supporters, e.g. BMW, VW, Daimler, etc. There are always good reasons and real reasons for any public (or private) policy.

The open area is the casting. Stamping is at 3:26. Why the works at the roof of the casting have been halted is unknown. It's however not so that there is no progress at all. Two castings machines have been installed - which is sufficient to start production. And at 4:21 you can see that they set up a temporary LNG gas station. This makes only sense if they want to make tests with these machines even before the connection to the public gas network is ready. Albeit they have started now also working on the piping. The still-missing final environmental (not construction) permit is important to start production. And Tesla made just recently public that they fear it won't be ready to start production in July. But I see other tasks as riskier for a start in July. "correct term" is difficult: final assessment of the submitted application by the administration. This assessment won't be above the laws (is on this thus not final at all). The administration is however not keen on that their assessment would fail before a court. And this is one reason why it takes so long, esp. if there are critical issues where the administration will need further assessments by external experts. Also from the viewpoint of the investor, a later assessment is better than one which will fail before a court - this would result in considerably more serious delays. The completion of the building was granted by a preliminary permit from 13. July 2020. This permit grants also to lay underground cables and pipes as long those are above the groundwater level. Currently, there are only 2 permits pending submitted mid-April: the installation of production equipment in the final assembly and the installation of HVAC equipment by a helicopter. Those are not really complex issues and it won't take that long until they are granted. But one has to ask - why has Tesla not applied for those tasks earlier. Or started not earlier with the piping. The only reasonable reason is that the plans had not been finalized earlier. Not the fear of slow bureaucracy.
