i like this whistle more, it has more blast and character to it, her other whistles sound wimpy compared to this

The whistle as it sounded in 1958 was best. There's a recording of it on You Tube. I don't think I'd go so far as to say the new one "sucks." Nothing about steam sucks!

From what I know the Claytor family still has her (original?) whistle; again from what I know they refused to put it back on 611 when there had to be changes done to 611. (changes that I may add were for safety reasons and to make the 611 FRA compliant) I believe she wears a Hancock replica now.
