Yea, roots only take HP and piss some warm air into the engine, you get 20-30% more with a screw type. If you wanna know why, roots are meant for 1-3 PSI at most, screws can do well beyond 20 psi intercooled

Impressive numbers for pump 98 it will be an animal on the street. Somehow I was disappointed by the sound though. Not sure if it was just the camera. Didn't sound as angry as I thought it would.

with high octane or E85 it will be close to 1000 horsepower naturally aspirated.

But how reliable is it? A hemi with pump gas can take the beating repeatedly the only things to give out are the transmission, driveshaft or differential. Can't beat the HEMI in its own game. Power and reliability.

Your a dumbass. Just put high octaine on the hemi and it'll result over 1000hp on the crack, and remember it's an N/A hemi engine No blower or turbos.

why would you put carbs on an efi engine and make it illegal for the street ? what a waste for the monaro. hemi does sound a bit like a wet fart but good numbers !

@@TheEsseboy What you overlook is - if you beat them in the first 1/8 mile of a 1/4 mile strip, they have to play catch up. There is an advantage of having low end power over top end in drag racing. Now, rally, road, circle track where you can keep your engine close to peak RPM, yes, then higher end power is more of a factor. Not to mention, roots is often cheaper.

I'm curious. Where can I find a 1873hp, 611ci, wet sump, naturally aspirated, engine running on pump fuel, that has so little development time, they readily admit it has a subpar intake manifold. I've been drag racing since 1975 and have yet to see one.

@@geneticrex it was the damdest thing i ever saw too! resectable credentials btw.. more tham i could claim. i was born in 76' and that works for me... i can only claim 92-97 as actual strip time. mostly between green valley and duck hill! i wouldnt swear to this but hasn't 2000hp been achieved with a GM 6.2 LS9? never stop putting your foot through the floor is what i say. my old HD2500 squeezes out 8 with the OEM injectors and coil packs.. its a fun azz /work/fishing/🚦2🚦2🚧🚧 interstate truck. 4x4 w/Allison 6 speed trans .. i guess maybe i have to take it back... i been smokin tires and lighting fires fur going on 30, dam dus time fly ... wish you many safe passes friend!

@@thespiritof76.. I graduated high school in 76' (lol) and have been 6.60s at a tick over 207. Actually there is no such thing a naturally aspirated "conventional" V8 that is anywhere near 1800+ built within the parameters of this particular configuration. To make in the ballpark of 1800+, a big inch, high rpm, max effort deal is required......especially when you consider an NHRA Pro Stock is somewhere between 1450-1500 at 10k+ rpm. Even a mountain motor Pro Stock would have trouble making that kinda' steam. Boosted engines are a far different story, though.

@@thespiritof76.. Yep....naturally aspirated just means no boost, no nitrous, no outside help from power adders. Just carbs, or injected. Not easy to make big power when relying only on atmospheric pressure. Everything has to be on point, because you need either big cubes, big rpm, or both. Smaller engines are typically more efficient due to frictional loses and the ability of limited inlet valve area to fill the cylinder, but a 400ci engine making 1000hp at 9000rpm (2.5hp per cube), is still out powered by a 600ci engine making 1200hp at 8K. Although, "useable rpm" is very important in drag racing because the mechanical advantage of converter flash rpm and final gear ratio radically affects acceleration.....but that a WHOLE nother' story.lol

Ron i was referring to the Monaro at the start which made 780hp at the engine, which is about 600rwhp. My bad at first i thought the 10L engine was from the Monaro but it's got an LS1
