Hay 618. Haven't td in a while. It's MBP. The guy in st Louis. There's these two awesome spillways down by me on the Mississippi near the Arch on river front trails. Last Monday a friend and I got 3 big buffalo over 10 two grass carp one over 20 a nice flathead 7 or8 about a dozen blues between 2 and 8 pounds plus a few big carp and drum mixed in. We're gonna be heading out tomorrow and this weekend. If you wanna try it I can send you the directions. We were just using worms too.

Hey Nick ! Using gold fish as bait can backfire ? Fishing at a lake a guy next to us caught one that was 8-9 lbs. . He thought it was a freshwater red fish . but we told him " look no dot " . He was using Charlies cat fish bait balls . Carps eat eggs from nest.
@GarySankary2 жыл бұрын
Really enjoy your videos. You might love fishing as much as I do :). I'm very curious about what state you fish in. In the two states I've lived in fishing with more than one line, using gamefish for bait (Bluegill) and using goldfish for bait are all illegal.
@MrBendylaw Жыл бұрын
Flatties are the best when you're bank fishing. Moonless nights in the summer and live bait always worked best for me. Also patience. Seemed like the big ones would always show up on a quiet night when I was pretty much half asleep.

Just a lil flathead tip, they burrow i and lay underneath the rocks. If you’re gonna fish with live bait try dropping them as close to structure as possible❤ EDIT: I didn’t look to see if anyone else commented about this but I’m addition flatheads really aren’t picky about depth either. They’ll sit in 2 ft of water

Nick.... Believe it or not, at the base of that spillway is where a flathead will usually sit. Although its so close to the bank, that's where I would've tossed a couple of live goldfish. Also, try tossing live baits on the frontside of current based snags. Anyways, great video as usual. I'll be on the lookout for your next adventure.

I’d like to see you try again. The spot looks great. The active, bigger flats are likely to be right in that turbulent water during the daylight. Drop those goldfish right into the current. There’s probably snags, but that’s where those fish will be.
