I teardown and repair a broken fly zapper / bug zapper / mosquito zapper / camping light
This is a combination camping light and mosquito zapper, which runs from an 18650 cell, it was damaged by overcharging and the charge controller IC (4056) failed.
So I replace the blown IC and a shorted surface mount ceramic capacitor to restore the insect zapper to working condition.

easiest way to find what the capacitance is it to look at the data sheet of that new chip (as long as the cap is connected to the pins of it of course) and check to see what its used for. the data sheet should also state what its for and the value. maybe used to set current or something to the battery during charging

Nice repair! A small bit of wire wick makes a good small heat sink in a pinch and you can "fan" the loose end to help with cooling plus it can be shaped to fit an odd area.
