Great comment. It’s one thing to drive straight at the Autobahn with all the other traffic, which is hard enough if you want to go beyond 200km/h. But on the country roads / Landstraße with all the turns it’s another stoty. Just look here 8:42

Fully agree. These cars are not for people who ignore risks, they're really quick and although they give you a lot of confidence, there's a fine line where it can all go wrong real-real quick. I know because i've had an F82 M4 and now G80 M3 . Great cars but handle with caution if not on a circuit.

Note to people that might be considering using MHD or some kind of ECU or piggyback tuning for the newest generation of BMW products. Specifically G20/G21/G80/G81 but likely other new models, too. I have a friend that did a simple external ECU tune (so not a chip tune but a piggyback one) on a 2020 (non-LCI) BMW G20 330e sedan. He was a bit anxious about it though, as I had told him to be careful because of warranty, since I had read somewhere that the newest generation sends data out constantly. The week after, he suddenly gets a call from BMW headquarters Germany--so not even his dealer but directly from HQ--asking him if there's an issue with his car because they are seeing very strange data coming from it and they think it has a defect. I'm convinced they actually knew what was going on, though. Anyways, they asked him to bring it in for a checkup, which he ignored, though he did promptly remove the piggyback. About 1,5 years later, he suddenly developed a horrible sound coming from the car, so he brings it to the dealer. Gets an SMS two days later, apparently the differential was shot and the repair wasn't done yet because he had to come in and pay in cash. When he went there, they told him his car was flagged as being tuned, it didn't matter that it was only for a short while and it was permanent. So of course, warranty had been denied and the cost would be €4500-€5000, paid in full and on the spot. You can bet that with any further mechanical issue inside the warranty period, they're going to pin it on the tune Just sharing this as a kind of public service announcement, since I didn't know they could actually even spot external ECU (piggyback) tunes these days, and directly over the air, too, so not only when it's brought in for service. So, watch out with modding, even with piggyback tunes, you might void your warranty, at least for any parts that could be impacted by a tune, even if it's a remote chance. It really sucks, and until this happened I had been considering a piggyback tune as well. Not anymore though

From the stories I've heard, it appears to me that TÜV and the German road police are quite thorough and strict in their rules and checks, which of course can be a major downside if you like modding your cars, like for instance the strict noise limits (ugh) or the fact that all mods have to be TÜV-approved. It does increase road safety too though, or at least I assume it does. I'm from Belgium (hi, neighbour) and over here the checks are a bit less strict, though that also means that oftentimes it can appear to be pure luck whether your car passes inspection or not and you also see more rolling rustbuckets on the road

@@BinaryBlueBull munich police know about MHD, they check the stats in the iDrive and check if you have map switch. If they found something, they take away your car. I had to pay 2.200€.

So on top of the fine, you have likely had to pay the impound as well to get your car back? May I ask what they check for in iDrive so they can see that you've used MHD? Do they check if your HP/torque or fuel consumption are higher than normal perhaps? I'm not familiar with MHD so I don't know what is changed inside iDrive. But I am mostly really surprised by how high that fine is

Remove the OPF.. Cracking easy and worth it for the sound imo. At least here in Norway we have EU inspection every two year so just put it back for next inspection then back of right after. Dont know how often TUV is though

Hardware parts with tüv can be installed directly without a mass of PS Gains. Software on the other hands a PS gains so you need a visit by the tüv so they can approve all Security meassurments and these are neassersery for the car insurence in germany

Dreckig gelogen mal wieder, weil BMW Fanboys die Kanalbetreiber. Der hat mindestens 670 PS, sonst würde er nicht die 100 auf 200 und 250 auf 300 Zeiten schaffen. Schon mal gar nicht als fetter Kombi. Ein Audi RS3 Limo mit 670 PS würde nach deren Logik mit 200 kg weniger Gewicht, besserem CW Wert, besserer Stirnfläche, leichterer Bereifung etc ab 250 kmh nicht schneller sein... 🤦🏻🤦🏻

6,8 100-200 ja klar... NEVER mit nur 625 PS und beim Kombi... Audi RS3 Limo von DVX mit 200 kg weniger Gewicht und besserem CW Wert und weniger Stirnfläche, leichtere Räder etc ist dann mit 650 PS nur 4/10 schneller? Lächerlich, niemals. Mit 625 PS muss der fette Kombi hier deutlich über 7 haben. EDIT: dann hat er im zweiten Run sogar 6,7 geschafft.. wird ja immer fantastischer... 😂👌🤦🏻🤦🏻
