Best tape Ever Confirmed. So many stories but I'll mention one. My rear turn signal on my 1984 Honda motorcycle fell off due to the retaining bolt falling off. Used this tape to re-attach. It moulded itself to parts, breaks with a smooth clean edge, survived tens of thousands of miles and 20 years later still looked as good as the day I applied it.

Nylon reinforced packing tape is MUCH stronger. 3M make great tapes and I've used them for electrical work (and "band aid reinforcement/replacement" because standard band aids suck if you are active) since the 1970s, but reinforced tape shits all over even quality "duct" (in the correct use of the word) tapes for strength and the adhesion is similar. Every mechanic should have a few rolls of 3M tape, along with heat shrink tubing, proper crimpers and a good selection of bare electrical connectors (not that auto store shit). They should also have nylon-reinforced packing tape. Tape rolls don't get jealous of each other so own what is best for a given job. Another great tape is self-vulcanizing "F4" tape which has no adhesive to goo your gear. We used it in the Air Force for taping dangling gear straps etc. It remains elastic and works superbly. Remember when wiring tape is NOT ANTI-CHAFE! Protect against chafing using split loom, zip tied plastic shields (easily cut from old oil or antifreeze jugs) etc.

im not an electrician i just like the texture and look of this tape, also its stickier than normal tape, also i use it in my gaming setup because it makes 2 wires look like 1, or 6 wires into 2 and it looks nice :)

I love this stuff, it's fantastic IF you use it before it gets old on the roll. I bought a bunch of it after using cheap tape for years. I believe it was a 10 roll contractor bundle or something. So I put a couple rolls in the toolbox a couple in the drawer one in the kitchen a couple in the camping stuff and tackle box.... The problem is if you don't get to it and use it in a reasonable amount of time and especially if it is stored in any kind of adverse environment...... The adhesive changes sides. It literally makes the OTHER SIDE sticky and becomes impossible to use. I don't get it. Once you use it and its stuck on something. It stays there. Through all kinds of bad conditions but it will "go bad" if you leave a roll in the glove box or your tackle box and don't do something with it. As bad as the harbours freight stuff is, you could kick it under the fridge while hooking up a new icemaker and in 10 years when you buy a new one find the tape from ten years ago, you can use it to hook up the new one again. It will work every bit as badly as it did the first time you used it. No better but no worse either. If it was 3m 33+, the tape job from 10 years ago would be holding as well as it did when you put it on there.... But that roll you kicked under the fridge will never tape anything together again, except everything you touch for the rest of the day after handling it trying to figure out why the outside of the tape is sticky but it wont stay wrapped on anything else.

that shit is fucking magical. i really doesn't give a shit about the weather. it holds and holds. even after YEARS of environmental abuse, it just holds on. it's a bit on the pricey side but worth every cent!

Hey, thanks for giving me all those ideas. I would not have thought to put it in with my camping gear. I use it for electric work. I think I'll keep a roll in the trunk for emergencies on the road!

3M generally makes decent stuff, but claiming that nobody else can match them is a bit much. This may as well have been an add for them.
