Great video, the client must be very excited to have this all drawn out for him in such a way. The video also explains really well why certain choices were made. Especially the turnout count show what is and is not useful in certain scenarios. I cannot wait for the next installment! Have a great weekend :D

Hi Richy, good to hear my videos are understood well. I really enjoy making track plans so I guess you see that in the design itself. Please note this was a layout design consultancy job. One of the services I provide.

Hey, I love your video, it was so satisfying to watch. What is the software you used to design the track layout? For example at 8:35 ? Thank you so much!

Great to hear it was usefull. The software is Anyrail6

Coming out of the yard to the right, it appears that that a train crosses the inside main to get to the outside main. But it has to be a fully switchable crossing, (4 turnouts in one?) to allow all movements in both directions, yes?
@DubaiTrains3 жыл бұрын
Yes correct. All the directions are needed. With all the required connections on that side of the yard these english turnouts are just a massive convenience and space saver.

What size switches and curve radius is shown?
@DubaiTrains3 жыл бұрын
Hi Conrail. All the normal R en L turnouts are the Marklin 'long turnout' varient. These correspond roughly to turnout #5. The curved turnouts and wye's are peco. The client will convert these to 3 rail. I will elaborate more on this topic in the next video.
