I have to change that fuse too, I've seen people saying it's 16 ohms instead of 0.16 ohms. It's really confusing lol When I check the colors in a calculator, it's saying 16.8 Ohms. Sorry, Im' losing my head ahah. Good fix again!
@ToltecMerc Жыл бұрын
It is definitely 0.16 ohm. I checked a working power supply.

I never understand why manufacturers don’t close their consoles off from bugs getting into their systems. But great video.
@ToltecMerc2 жыл бұрын
It may be because they are in the business of selling consoles and they really don't care if they continue working after the warranty period.
@highroyds2 жыл бұрын
@@ToltecMerc Very true, they're more concerned about selling more consoles than repairing them or prevention.

Hey mate... love your videos!!! I have a ADP-200ER AA. The console did not switch on and did not get any 12v. I changed out DAP41 as it had a short. Now when its cold the console switches on for arround 5-10 or so min and then shuts down. Have no power. Remove the power cable and refit then it switches on for 5 or so secs then switches off. If i leave it for an hour or so it switches on again and stay on for 5-10 min and same story again. Any ideas?

Today i've seen your video. A 0,16 ohm resistor can be replaced by a 0,15 or 0,18 ohm? Thanks a lot Ale

I’m sure they would work just fine.

Hey m8, what's your go to suspect for a ps4 power supply that comes up on 12v and shuts down? I have two adp160-er that I restored 4.8v standby on by replacing faulty components, but when I trigger the 12v it comes up and shuts down. Everything else looks good. Thanks for your input and direction.
@ToltecMerc2 жыл бұрын
Does the +12V actually come up momentarily or is the supply just shutting down as soon as you trigger it and you never see any +12V?
@jonathansandiford41372 жыл бұрын
@@ToltecMerc it comes up for a moment. I would see 12v on my Multimeter for like a split second and then the voltage will be dropping like a discharging cap. If I check the main caps after that, they would be over 300v, and discharging as well. I would have to disconnect, and reconnect the ac supply to get the 4.8v standby up again. It's alot more life than they previously had (no 5v standby). However I have tested diodes and resistors and everything seems to be OK.

@@jonathansandiford4137 what happens if you lift pin 3 or 4 of IC43(opto-isolator)? Just desolder one or the other and carefully bend the leg so it does not touch the pad. Does it stay on?
@jonathansandiford41372 жыл бұрын
@@ToltecMercsorry for the late response. I went down a rabbit hole and just came back up lol. I lifted pin 4 of that EL1013 and I no longer get my standby voltage. Pin 6 of the dap046 now has a voltage of around 11v.(closer to 16v when that feedback pin is connected) I noticed also that when I lift pin 3 of ic52 and ic55, and apply the standby voltage to acdc/standby I can see the 16v being switched over from pin 4 to pin 3 on ic52(the one that sends the voltage to the transistor q41) and the 5v stby stays on. (acin_det drops out)

@@ToltecMercyou could add these details in description. Or maybe pin this comment for us to find faster these details. By the way this part number says 0.16ohms 1W. The power supply is 4.8v 1.5A which is 7W. Have you ever had any trouble with these?

When I work on these power supplies, I use a high wattage lamp in series as well as an isolation transformer. The series lamp has definitely saved a few fuses and components, after I thought I had solved all issues and went to test it, only to be greeted with a bright light 😅
