Fabulous film, Beth. What a great voyage! I always love a journey when the sun sets and the sun rises again during the trip. This journey was also special because of the contrast - the sparkling lights of London, the open skies & waters off the Essex coast, and the glorious Suffolk riverscape where we ended our trip. You captured it all well, a great film. (Sorry I photobombed your shot as we headed to the Thames Barrier! I hadn't realised I was right in your shot - D'oh!) I loved your explanation of watches, that's just how it felt. Thank you for your excellent navigation guiding us safely through the deeps. A pleasure to sail with you!

I lived in Woodbridge for many a year and loved sailing the Deben and the East coast rivers, it’s an area that has a very special place in my heart. Enjoy 👍

I really enjoyed the contrast between the Thames at night and the Suffolk countryside. Both beautiful and so interesting to follow this journey. Loved your sleep deprived efforts at describing the night’s timeline. Tired but happy.

Those night shots were sublime... Great place to be. The jog looked very interesting there as you drew it. Great video! Fun trip. Thanks!

That was really fascinating, thank you. I have driven over the QEII bridge many times, but never seen the underside of it. What a lovely trip that was. Best wishes Christine x

One of the most beautiful rivers and my preferred sailing area. Did you notice that you passed the lovely Peter Duck once owned by Arthur Ransome? She's the green hulled classic towards the end of the vid.

Oh really, wow!! I filmed that boat because it was so beautiful although it's wonderful to hear that she was owned by Arthur Ransome!

Sailing agrees with you so get your barge finished and get sailing? You reading do look bright eyed and relaxed when out on the water. Pity there wind didn't allow for some vigorous sailing? Cheers

Yes, it's so good being out on the water. I actually added this quote to my channel because it's how I feel about the project: If you want to build a ship don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work. Rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. -- Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Spooky, I just happened to stumble across this video. I saw you coming up the Deben at the weekend!!! Normally we'd be the other side of the country but had to come to Waldringfield for a sailing event (son sails a Cadet). Didn't realise you're a Dutch barge, I said you're probably a Thames barge or similar (sorry)!

When you title your vlog "Sailing" you should be doing exactly that. Not motoring around. I am heavily disappointed.

Sometimes the wind just doesn't blow in the direction you need, but we had sails up when we could use the wind.
