If you think the colorful back is ugly you're objectively wrong (ok not really and there are different options but I like it for some reason) If you're into gaming phones, this is one of the best deals out there- and even if you're not, I do think it could be a tempting choice for a certain type of "power" user. It's flawed, especially in software, but for $630 there's no questioning the value.

p.s. would not recommend this phone if you use ATT here in the USA. ATT whitelists specific phones for VoLTE, and since they have begun phasing out 3G your phone will be a dud on its network if its not whitelisted.

They are basically only allowing AT&T bought phones on their network. My note 10 unlocked currently doesn't work and I'm dropping them on my next day off because of it. :/

Red Magic is a huge liability as it's not water resistant - if you need to repair it because of that, you'll have to pay more than its original cost (!). They don't have physical stores or local support which means any repair will be done abroad (with shipping costs being charged to you), and any peripherals you want to buy will also come with a shipment surplus, so it's just a money sucking machine. Just to give you an idea, my RM 6 pro (top specs) lightly touched some water which got into the charging port (so it's not like it was submerged) and because that's not covered by the warranty I had to send it abroad for repair. They said all data in there is lost (an sd card slot would have been useful here) and they are asking for roughly 120% its original price to repair it. Obviously I'm not paying that to repair a phone that is no longer their latest generation. I'd be paying more than double for a soon-to-be obsolete device with not even any emotional attachment since all data is gone. Gaming phones are a huge risk because they're not water resistant, but Red Magic really takes the cake. Any suggestions on a high-end cool smartphone I can use for gaming that's water resistant and has good customer support?

Hey great video thanks for posting I've got the magic 5s and have been waiting for next generations to come out that tackle what I want changed. The camera being one of them. Now you said this is the 16gb model. Do you know the name of this model because this is the colorway I want but on their site the 18gb is called the supernova, the 16gb is the pulsar. I'm hoping the pulsar is the one you showed as I am in love with those colors. Also thanks for the tip about the Google photo APK. I'm going to try that on my redmagic 5s see if it improves quality. Because like the 7 the hardware is there, the software and AI is what is lack luster.

It's unfortunate that the transparent version looks so great because it's going to have to be covered up with a case. Not to mention those really cool fans are gonna suck up a ton of dust and water with everyday use. 165hz screen refresh is functionally useless as you'll only get to use it in your app dock. Literally nothing supports it. I really wanted this phone but it feels like you'd be better off getting a Oneplus 9 pro or Mi 11 for the same-ish price. WQHD screens, higher NITS, Their benchmark scores are within a reasonable range and they more than handle any games out on the phone right now. You'll also have a better chance of getting global updates.

i want an ipad mini size gaming phone from red magic. 6.5 to 7inch too small for me. i ended up buying tab s8plus. my ipad pro 12.9 2nd gen screen has tons of touch issues started yr after bought it brandnew. not gonna buy apple devices again.

Apple doesn't include a charging brick because everyone and their grandmother has one. I get Apple recently switched to usb c charging cords but because everyone else has been using usb c previous to this, there are plenty to go around. I just use my I pad pro or my MacBook charging brick anyway. Much faster.
