Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. Running the back roads is a nice change . Some Pretty country you were running through. A tad empty miles you had to run there. It’s to bad you did not get some kind of compensation, wishfull thinking huh. Lolol You tractor and trailer look really good Dan. Your from the old school. It’s to bad trucking is evolving away from what it used to be like. Well nice video Dan, have a great and a safe day, happy trails and happy motoring..

I ordered 100 three-quarter inch LEDs off Amazon for about$45. They have two leads as marker lights, you can get three leads that also have turn signals. In two years of you so I still haven't burned none. They come with the rubber grommet and 6in of lead. They all fit a standard three-quarter inch hole. I got these installed every 3 in on my front bumper. Five on each end or turn signals, they also are markers these are the three wires. Thought I'd let you know you can save a bunch of money and put a bag of these in your sleeper and they're always on hand. 🤔👍

The Air system on a semi works like the air system on a train, when air is added, the brakes release, the when a reduction is introduced, the brakes apply!👍
@davidcarroll8735
@davidcarroll8735 Жыл бұрын
Ah, as I am not professional driver, is it correct so say if there are 4 tire tracks leading off the highway travel lane to the break down lane that likely the air pressure dropped and the trailer wheels locked up? Seems logical based upon what you’ve wrote and I’ve heard Dan say before, but I’m just guessing. Thanks!
@ericdee6802
@ericdee6802 Жыл бұрын
@@davidcarroll8735 Yes, the brake cans on a semi have a compression spring that has around 40,000 lbs of tension on them which is applied when air pressure isn't present, or reduced "NEVER DISSAMBLE ONE" Death is eminant.
@gord2358
@gord2358 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I remember the all-important tug test. I hooked up to a loaded trailer once and as I pulled ahead I saw the trailer dropping but was able to hit the brakes in time to prevent it from dropping on to the ground. The fifth wheel hadn't locked in place. Things you learn as a rookie.

UK/EU with 45ft semi's usually have a 9ft pin, (front of trailer to 5th wheel pin). this keeps us within the legal max length, but allows allows very tight turns. Most semis at 98560lbs gross weight us 3axles. (front lift not just to save wear but avoid scrubbing. (And digging up the tarmac surface). lol

I appreciate the care you take when you hook up. I never rush the routine of hooking up. I pull a 5th wheel trailer. I have had friends who always are in a "hurry" to get going. You likely know what happens. . . . and it has, especially when people are excited to visit when you first arrive. I have heard that they then blame others for something that they should have checked. I try not to be rude but I tell friends to just stand back. I do not need "help". I always do the "bump" just to make sure when I leave. On your comment about helping your neighbour, I once was ready to pull out from a camp site and a "neighbour" had trouble with his slide-out. It would not go in. I spent a couple of hours fiddle-diddling. It was a hot day. My wife put down cardboard and I even had some old blankets to crawl under his 5th wheel. I was all sweated up by the time I found out that a safety switch was fussy. I moved the slide-out by manually moving the slide-out by screwing it in just a touch and it started working. The "neighbour" was a friend that used to live beside us in Swift Current when we first got married. I was pleased that I could help him and his wife. I suggested that they should maybe get their luxury unit checked when they arrived home. Thank you for making your videos. We appreciate the care and attention to details. I hope the people who make decisions can see what a turmoil "things" are in. Hang in there. 😊

I’m not sure if you’re tired of trucking and you want to stay around the house or not. If you do, you can get into the work I do. I work Monday through Friday during the day for myself and I make around $300,000 a year. My expenses are probably around $10,000 a year. Another KZbin or who drives trucks who I guess has around 30 million views is shutting all that down now and doing what I do. I live in Oklahoma. I have a lot of family in Apache Junction Arizona

The noise isn’t a problem. It’s real life if Trucker Dan. IMO creators are far too self conscious or critical about production and audio quality. I’m primarily interested in the information, content and the “journey”. High dollar and or slick graphics and audio is fine but to me, it’s not really relevant. Safe Travels, sire from an older guy that did a bit of flatbread work for TMC 20 years ago. Great company but it’s tough work !
