63ft Super yacht Rescue

Solent CG had received reports of a 19m power boat with 2 PoB which had suffered a fuel gauge malfunction while on a delivery trip from Antwerp to Southampton and had therefore run out of fuel and was at anchor off Birling Gap. Our LOM was paged at 11:55 to request that we launch to assist. The crew were paged at 12:00 and the lifeboat left the side at 12:03 and proceeded at cruising speed arriving on scene at 12:20. Having checked that all was well aboard apart from the fuel situation we had the casualty raise her anchors and our towline was passed and a tow to Newhaven commenced at 12:39. Inside the harbour the vessel was brought up alongside the lifeboat and placed on the marina fuel berth into the care of Newhaven CG at 13:50. The lifeboat was back on our berth at 14:00.
