63rd Horseless Carriage Holiday Motor Excursion (2018) - Drive-Ins

One of the highlights of the year, and a great close to the 2018 car show season is the Holiday Motor Excursion, hosted by the Horseless Carriage Car Club of America, Southern California Chapter (HCCA Socal). This event is one of the most unique in that we get to see some of the rarest and unusual cars of the pre-war era, particularly those made before 1932. Pre-1932 stock/original cars have the chance to go on the HCCA tour after the meet-up. while other classics and hot rods show up to admire the horseless carriages.
This year, the show once again changed locations. This year's meet-up was pretty difficult to shoot photos and video, because of a tight and crowded new location in a corporate parking lot. Cars waiting to get in lined up outside the lot, which was a little dangerous considering that New York Drive in Pasadena is quite a busy street, but the cars that showed up, both pre and post-1932, were incredible as usual. It's a DIVCO Twin Coach, I believe from the early 1930s. Usually see them in Helms Bakery colors.

In spite of the cold, it was definitely worth the 50mile trip up to Pasadena to take the tour. My only gripe was the tour itself was brutal to my left leg, and I drive my Model A daily! As last year, I will be back at the end of 2019 for the next tour, but can we find a few straight flat roads? I would also like a few blocks of Colorado Blvd to show off to the parade folk.

Location for the meet up was a little crowded and difficult to film and take pictures in, but the quality of cars that showed up were top notch as usual. Hope they can find a more open location to fit more cars in!
