I appreciate they are trying to create an “inclusive, hard-core-like experience” but some of us love HC as-is so I hope they still manage to give us that experience without any dilution for the sake of keeping a stable population in any server.

I play both games, running back to Lotro when I don't have VIP for whatever reason, it is a far better Premium experience than DDO.

I can tell you right now 90% of the population won't care if you can't transfer your guild, I could bet they care more about their mounts and similar things that won't change to a new server

@@theCombatWombat-1 I mean that would be the one reason my wife and I wouldn't transfer is the guild. We have a two person guild with the largest airship and a fair amount of amenities for two players who don't play as often. Starting from scratch would be awful for us. Thankfully he's looking out for the players.

Technical question-how do you “copy” a high level character for the test event? I’m glad you guys are working out the kinks so no one loses anything if they transfer to the new server. I am concerned about the ideas for an “integrated” HC but am suspending my judgement til I know more.

It's like a transfer, only you don't lose the old character.

Is it only the test 64-bit servers that will be in Las Vegas? Or will all future upcoming 64-bit servers be on a dataserver on the west coast?

in case you have to put a limit on those servers, divide the new servers to like 3 old servers who are allowed to move. and after that is done, allow cross-new-server-transfers that way a server's population will land fully on one server

Also on the Guild transfer issue... Why not just give guild leaders whatever they would need to recreate the guild things? Plat/Shards ect? Wouldn't that be a lower tech/low cost/fast solution?

I honestly think it would be better to do some sort of token system, or redeemable option. Giving shards could definitely be abused

well free transfers to new, better servers sound great. and alot of things that do not transfer are kinda easy to fix, i think. for guilds: put an npc that gives you a copy of the amenieties you already have in btc. and a voucher for a guild ship of the current size. also a guild renown voucher like from a saga, just with the xp needed to reach the current level of the guild with renown earned towards the next level being lost. (like 175 with 20% would give a level 175 0% voucher) make it that only the guildleader can get that and it can only be given once per guild. then a npc where you can buy astral shard vouchers for example. or an npc that checks your mount and pet stables and offers certificates for those, if you already own it. i don't think that would be too hard to solve. looking forward to transfer already! :)

for monster manuals and favor rewards: i'm happy to earn those all over again. wouldn't mind a reset on the monster manual at all, to re-earn the rewards. so that would re-compensate itself only problem i see is stuff you only own on one server that possibly could make a character unplayable on the new server, like favored soul or artificer

@@r8chlletters I can see that, but it's free, and something new to throw on until the night revels so I can get my dark purple look going again. I think SSG should sell dye kits for armor pieces so we could change the colors and not have everyone running around looking like clones. They'd probably make a lot of money off of that. There are some among the masses who are neither F2P nor VIP. Those who are between them... For example, I have purchased nearly everything for my account from the initial launch of F2P. I don't do VIP because its not logical to do so, when I have purchased all the content directly. I am NOT like a casual F2P player, farming out points or whatever. Or just come around a couple times a year. I buy and have bought it, so I don't have to have a monthly sub. Could "High Level" premium players also be able to participate in the early days of the 16 Bit server???

Yeah, I think I've purchased everything they've ever offered, outside of the weekly free potion kind of codes, because I've been poor most of the last decade - but when I have money, I buy stuff so that it's always permanently available to the account on any server.

Yes my group is comprised of beta folks who own everything and were VIP for over a decade but who don’t need it now…how do these legacy members get to participate in the new server and the lantern event? If this “new HC is about being people together they need to solve how to include people who will be lost from groups due to a two-tier player system.

No. In the test phase you can copy characters over to play. Once it is officially launched as a permanent server the lantern event will begin and require VIP membership and everyone makes fresh toons. Eventually there will be transfers made available, sounds like when the lantern event concludes. Hopefully non VIP will be included at some stage but they haven’t said yet.

Best thing about hardcore was that you start as "0", in contrast to our 15y+ chars with starting stats higher than lvl 20s on HC. That fresh start and feel we are all equal at the beginning.

I sure hope that you eventually bring back true HC. This new version have zero appeal to me. Not been playing for almost a year waiting for a new HC season. We are quite a few people out there that ONLY play HC servers now. So you are kinda just leaving us behind.

Dying better kick you out of the dungeon or it will be abused to help people doing HC. 64 bit means nothing, you could paint the servers pink, still means nothing to players.

Not got time to listen to all. However, yes would care if we lost our guilds for those who have invested in kraken airships and had a guild over a decade. it would also be sad if we can't transfer characters and gear, some of which is sentimental too. It would be nice to have the game working better with less lag but losing characters that we have been building for years and their gear would be too sad. Also with guilds many of us have made great friendships over the years and working on guild renown has been a part of that. I have no idea what you can do.

@@Kydrou I feel like the casuals really had nothing to do with them stopping the Hardcore servers. I never played hardcore for long but I wasn't someone who said they shouldn't exist. I also suspect there are behind the scenes reasons hardcore was shuttered (server costs vs money earned over time)
