I am a French literature teacher, so, obviously, I love books. But let's say it : english editions are sooooo beautiful. It really seems the editors enjoy themselves and want people to be intrigued. Here, in France, common editors just have a white cover and a random painting / photo reproduction. When I am in class, and ask my pupils to read a book, most of the time, I have to say : "don't look at the cover, it's ugly, I know, it doesn't mak you want reading it, I know, but trust me, inside, it's good." I couldn't help myself and bought some books in English by the years, hoping one day I would be able to read them because I would have improved my English..! Anyway : VERY beautiful collection !
@vmpapillon89842 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, I often prefer the English covers to the German ones :-D I am trying to only buy English ones if that is the original language and the translated ones in German. Because I started to realise that I rarely read in my mother tongue anymore which is a shame as well.

German (my mother tongue) books share the same problem: so uninspiring to look at. Plus, translated works are often more than double the price of English originals, so I convinced myself years ago that reading books in their English original is a double win. I practice my foreign language skills and save money.

Books are my best friends. I've never transitioned to a Kindle. PDFs are the closest I've come across reading online, but there's just something about reading from paper that I love. I like non-fiction. When something resonates, I highlight it. I also like to hear the stories of people's lives. Those get consumed the fastest. Alexia is an extremely blessed little girl to have parents who love to read. Children who love reading very young grow up to be especially intelligent. She'll be both brilliant and beautiful. I pray God's Divine Intervention to straighten out all that's become so wrong in this world, to rid us of the evil, so that our children can live in a freer world void of greed and oppression. 🙏🏻😘

Favorite book, where do I begin - I must admit to a love of children's books even though I'm in my 70's. Favorite author(s): have you read James Herriot's books about his life as a veterinarian in England in the 40's - wonderful and humorous, Fannie Flagg who wrote Fried Green Tomatoes among other wonderful books, Kay Gibbons, Rosamund Pilcher - so many, and I do read them over and over. And, it must be a real book, nothing electronic. Your bookcase is a joy, so vast and encompassing. My books are scattered in every room in small bookcases; some still in piles. Enjoy! Awesome collection of books. Love the deep pine green color choice of paint for the book shelves. One of my favorite books for 2023 is "Lord Jagannath Calling" by Biswajit Pattajoshi and Snigdha Pattajoshi. 154pg. I read it in one day. It is written as a personal prayer mantra. The sentences are not grammatically correct which make this book interesting. The words come straight from the heart. It is very rare for a book to hold my attention to finish it non-stop once I open the page.

When we moved recently, our new place had built-in shelves in the living room and I was excited to finally unpack all my books that I have’s boxed up for several years (3 moves). Five years ago, we moved and the cost of living was very high in the new place we lived. We went from having a library and 3 bedrooms, to spending more money in rent for a 1-bedroom match-box in a high-rise. I had to give away several boxes of books. Some went to the local library, others got placed in a common area for books available for free at my school building. During that move I catalogued all the books I was keeping. And since then I’ve added to those boxes too. But they were in storage. So, I am right there with you with this vlog! Loving the color choice. It’s bold on the one hand, and I wouldn’t have thought to do that myself. 💯🥰🥰🥰

I’d rather cut off a limb than throw away my books. My spare bedroom in my new flat is much smaller so the 4 bookcases fill one wall. There’s a futon, lamp, rug and plants and nothing else. It’s now my cozy little reading snug and my favourite room ☺️

01. U. Eco's "Name of the Rose" & S. King's Duma Key. 02. Stephen King & Joanne Harris (there are more but I 'tried' to size it down) 03. Horror, Paranormal Classcis, True Crime, Magic Realism, etc… ( so hard to choose!) P.S.: Es war schön ein türkisches Buch auf vietnamesisch zu sehen in deinem Bücherregal. 💖

I had been waiting so long for this video. And now I have to watch it again because the first time I just gaped at the books. Now I’ll read the comments/subtitles.

Olala! Your library makes me dream! I would love to have a wall full of books like that! My apartment is way too small for that!! No doubt in the next one! My favorite books are the feel good ones, the ones that make me travel and feel good all along, the historical ones too that I really like! And I'm enjoying graphic novels more and more.
