Ester Ledecka talks to Maciek about her windsurfing history and windsurfing at home. They chat about her amazing success at the 2018 olympics and the similarities with trying to maintain a world class level in two different disciplines. Ester tells us about the crazy windy Defi Wind experience and how she sees the windsurf community in comparison to the snow community. Ester's enthusiasm for windsurfing shines through as she tells us about her goals in the sport.

What an incredible guest...a true living legend! I loved skiing and snowboarding when I was younger, but windsurfing gives me a similar thrill. The average age of windsurfers is significantly higher for a reason. Warm water, sunshine and way harder to get into life threatening conditions (like avalanche) or achieve speeds that kill. One of my favorite interviews on this channel for sure!

Awesome interview. I'm sure it won't be long before she has the most solid choppy water gybe. The technique, leg power and feeling are totally transferable from carving a snowboard through a rutty gs course. Just oversheet and carve. I loved snowboarding first, but now windsurf more because the sea is close. At the beginning that similarity in the turns was something I really enjoyed about windsurfing.

To be fair to Ben and Maciek I have messaged them both about him and they're trying to make it happen. I'm fortunate enough to have met him a few times (working on MotoGP) and he's a top guy and always happy to spare a few minutes to talk windsurfing.

I think being into adrenaline sports has a lot to do with diet and metabolic health. The way our food effects hormones and epigenetics. I know my opinion will be frowned on by many, but eliminating all sugar, grains, vegetable/seed oils, consuming fruit/veg out of season, and regular consumption of nuts/alcohol/artificial sweeteners. Ideally, a high fat ketovore (keto + carnivore) diet is the perfect elimination diet to start with. Once stabilized (maybe 12-18 months) then begin slowly adding back your favorites. Nobody will be perfect, but is easy to get off track with a cheat meal. You guys are all in top shape and a special occasion can be celebrated with whatever, just don't have too many if possible. I'm looking forward to a day when our paths cross and since I live on Maui, there's a pretty good chance 🙏🙏🙏 Aloha🤙
