Wow! Wish you a good recovery, Lars. Amazing story. So cool to see you guys so determined to get back to what you want to do the most. Together. So cool the guys were there to support as well. Those are some awesome surfbuddies.

That was epic! 20 minutes flew by. Spain, so cool, the land skating, well done for still getting out there on a busy schedule. All the best healing up Lars, that looked ultra bad 🥺 But wow what senders. Riding hard, hitting so late.

The person Bruce mentions as the guy who taught him to windsurf, Grant Long (who sadly passed away in 2008), was the son of a local high school Physical Education teacher at Belmont High (cranky Mr Long... who was a real a-hole 🙂). Nonetheless, because of his son's connection to windsurfing Mr Long convinced the high school to adopt windsurfing as a school sport. It's amazing to think that group of kids at the Belmont 16s every Thursday afternoon would spawn some amazing sporting professionals from the area, including Paul "the Chief" Harragon and probably the most well known in sailing circles, Olympian Chris Nicholson, who recently won Sydney to Hobart line honours as master sailor/tactician aboard LawConnect. I clearly remember Bruce being instrumental in me learning to sail short boards!! Why??.. because racing him at Toronto (I think he was maybe 60kg at the time vs my 95kg) was so depressing that I would often abort the race and go and grab my Board Crazy (miss you Andrew!) slalom gear out of the car to go chop hopping the 3-foot NE swells rolling down from Belmont Bay to Coal Point. He was also the reason so many of us purchased a "plastic" Bombora boards (todays sailors have it soooo easy) and headed for the surf off Dicko, but somehow never managed to grab the air time he was getting! A special athlete and a true pioneer of the sport here in Australia. Thanks for the memories Bruce! ** For a trip down memory lane not too long ago (XMas 2022) I took my Windsurfer LT (made by Bruce's team at Cobra) on a rare trip to Belmont (some 900km away from me now), running that same LMYC to 16s to Marks Point to the old quarry to Coal Point lines in a howling 35 knot NE like the good old days. Although it was pretty good fun flying past foilers at lightning speed without a foot strap in sight, the best part was just remembering what a special place it was, and hopefully still is, for so many.

Heal up well Lars. You will be back on the water bro. Look into getting a CTI brace from Ossur. Works really well for windsurfing. Keep you head up and stay positive!

Some of the best drone video I've seen on windsurfing, looks awesome! That match of fin & board looked great. I just put a Kashy 38 on my Tabou Rocket + 113 and it made a huge difference.

NO WAY, i heard lennart neubauer talking about a guy twisting his leg in the wrong side in witsands while i was rigging in big bay. I never thought i would hear the end of the story. I also heard that he may not be able to windsurf again. so i am really relieved to hear that Lars is going back in the water next year. it will still be a long time so i wish you a good recovery, you are a true sender dude !

👍Jumping as high as a horse during a hurdle race, but wave jumps are my favourite as I'm a Windsurfing fan and enjoy watching as well as practicing those waves jumps.

Its nice to see comparison of older stuf to see if the money is worth it to buy new stuff. I ride my old stuf locally and i was surprised to see i was not last at all. It s might not be got for new sales now. But to get new guys in the sport to know its not necessary to spend a fortune too compete. New guys will grow and will buy new stuff right. More people have too enjoy oure beautiful sport. Keep up the good work love youre channel. All the best from Holland.
