well after more then 70 year we still looking a solution for nuclar wasted also 70% of nuclare power have far exceeded their intended lifetime in some cases they have more than doubled as long as their intended lifespan and are now only kept together and ducked with great difficulty 90% of people would say a 70 year old car is not save for modern traffic, no madder in how good condition the cars is but the same people to say 60-70 year old nuclear power plant its ototal save dude sure we could replace and renew many parts of such a nuclear power plant, but the heart of the reactor core cannot be renewed But this part is exactly the critical point that is subject to further and further decay, but hey, totally safe new modern nuclar plants are save but we run old anitces in some ases that are run by people who where not even born then they where build also why put solar systems on fields when there are more than enough cities that offer the same space??? it just a wasted of spce

One issue here, this grid doesn’t actually work. Televised as one of the biggest blunders in Chinese business history, the guy who put almost $700 million into this couldn’t finish it properly, and to this day most of it doesn’t work due to multiple issues such ranging from malfunction of an entire section, to simply cleaning it as all rain does is build up a dusty residue. It quite sad actually.

Except you paid it in advance in the cost of battery during the purchase, so it isn't really free. I installed 2.4 kW of solar panels with 8 kWh storage capacity myself last year on an off-grid container, and I am flooded with energy most of the year, let's say 8 moths. I could make use of an EV as a bottomless solar dump, but I don't see it making sense financially. I would have to trickle charge the EV with solar every day for 5-10 years if not more to start making sense. Not too mention the high load it would put on the system.

There are places in china where not much are growing in mountains. Particularly in western china. Also if you know what’s happening, you should be worried more about industrial emissions, rather than tree cutting in china. Because people especially young people leave for city jobs, nature in rural areas are recovering fast. There was a time in my village where everyone stays as farmer, you wouldn’t even find a birds nest in the mountains(hunted as soon as sighted). And it was pretty easy to walk in the woods and on the hill because everything worthwhile were getting harvested and cut. These days, nope. You won’t be able to go anywhere because it’s overgrown everywhere, and wild animals are back…

In fact, the amazing thing is they built the solar panels on desert to prevent sand storm, that's why you can't see any trees . In addition, they also try planting grass to reinforce soil. Now the desert is starting to recover, and they are starting to feed the goats and cows.

Now that it is there it is literally free energy. If something came along and crashed the price of energy down to $0.01 per kwh it would still be worth leaving this up generating the little bit of revenue it does. The investors would not get their money back, but it will not be shut down.
