Michael and the MSB Band at Richfield Coliseum on NYE '81 - this pulls at 'our' heart strings "priceless memories" every song, on every album back in those days was a great tune,...he simply didn't write any bad songs :: he was the last of the 'great romantics' !!

Mike was a stand up guy very nice person to meet. He used to play at my highschool in Mentor. I knew at that point that i wanted to do that for a living. Well i never became famous but i do play drums in a band with my son and its awsome

Watching this brings back tangible memories……cold nights, Strohs, Weed, route 303 and many many altered evenings in Richfield. Those days will never come back, but it sure feels good to remember - even though I was on a fast train to nowhere, I had a shitload of unencumbered fun….before….adulthood 😂

I was lucky to know Michael from the time he was a pesky little-kid friend of my brother who was always horning in on our backyard basketball games, lived next door to his sister for awhile, and finally went with my wife, Michael and some Norwegian musician friends of mine to meet some Russian counterparts. Michael was smart, funny, kind, and very much missed -- even though he was STILL 3 years younger than me.

I have a HUGE mural on the side of my building downtown that showcases the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame and contains a dozen or so rock performers considered important to the history of rock. The original proof they showed us wasn't wonderful, and I was totally blown away when they actually installed the full size mural and it was a slightly different version, and this one had Michael's face proudly displayed along with a dozen other musicians like Mick Jagger and Etta James. Sure, MSB wasn't the Beatles, but to Cleveland in the 70's and early 80's, they were pretty darn close. I smile every time I arrive in the morning, remembering those days of WMMS and MSB. If you'd like to check out that mural, drive by 1625 Rockwell, downtown. You can't miss it.

Jonah Koslens work on Stagepass……in 1976 is vastly under listened to and regarded- he was phenominal. Gary Markasky fit in well, and tried to emulate the sounds…but that huge sound of Jonah’s with the chorus and delay was overwhelming. He added a real backbone and then, to me, got a little cocky and full of himself and left the band. Breathless was good and had a few great tunes, and Jonah was a profound writer….but I can’t help wondering what would have Happened if he would have stayed?
