I remember this organ so well - from the late 1940s when Forests Fair came to Deal in September each year. The organ didn’t work in those early years but I think around 1950 it was slightly restored and was used. I was totally electrified by the sound - and I still am. I totally love it. When the Gallopers were restored and the organ working fully it was for me the most thrilling sight and sound. I miss that so much.

My grandfather gave me this record when I was a kid, I played it to death, it's fantastic, the metalophone gets on your nerves after a bit but that apart it's a fantastic record of one of the UKs best travelling fairground organs.

I did find the glock a bit loud, must have been the microphone positioning! You are right though, it is a great LP of a great organ.

@@MechanicalMusicRecordings The glock was on all the time then but it's now on it's own register as it should be, i have operated it a few times in the past.
