Very sad for those awesome buildings to be demolished. They were amazing.

What's even more sad is that all the men that risked their lives to build the structures are dead&gone forever.

As once a very keen amateur photographer , photographs like these simply sum up what great photography is all about ! Documenting our political , social , technological , sporting and cultural heritage and history !

So many beautiful old buildings with exquisite craftmanship demolished ! It still happens today unless we community members constantly be on guard against the developers and government big wigs. City Hall, Winnipeg is a good example. They just bribe an inspector to say the foundation has become unstable and they're off and running. Maybe with some of them it's true but we'll never really know, and we'll also never know if they're telling the truth when they say it's cheaper to tear down instead of repair.

Interesting to see the placard about Mary Ansell in the King’s Cross photo.

the sausage patties look nasty..uncooked.. listening to my voice in my head, I think I might sound like any one of the Israelites given the manna.. fish is real low on my 'like' list too.. the bread cubes look like starbursts.. the whole meal is monochromatic and dry as a bone... 6 bones.. the bride and groom pictured at 2:08 are lovely! what, no meatballs? -- got a nice fork on the end of the winder upper.. there's the meatballs/makings and/or sausages at Ronga Bros' store!! the white stuff in the layer-pak looks like okra, but it's very pale celery.. add okra to my 'icky' list and imagine how stringy the celery was.. I also don't like baby corn in chow mein, or water chestnuts. I wanna drive thru the red cedar stump!! cedar smells yummy!! is it still there? I agree, the pictures are poignant.. I felt that more towards the end. thanks 40 Historical Files.

Those beautiful buildings in the USA, just being demolished... And then they complain they have no history. Well, you do. A history of destroying beautiful buildings.

Too bad we demolish beautiful old buildings for modern ones. That’s why Europe has history but we don’t.
