As a Christian what I see these days is a population of people who say they are Christians but believe in everything that’s not holy and call it good. What’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right. People have shunned me over my feelings about ending abortion, not supporting the right to commit suicide, and gay marriage,just to name a few. The Earth is a wild beast speeding around the sun at 66,600mph, and the Earth is tilted 23.4° from its axis, which means it is tilted 66,6° from its solar ecliptic. It is a "human number" because Earth is our "human" planet, the only one in the Cosmos we know. If 6 symbolizes imperfection, then apparently God should have worked on the creation one more day, a 7th day, to make it perfect. But Genesis 1 says He didn't. It says God finished all the creation is 6 days. If the opening words of Genesis 2 are a little confusing, suggesting God may have finished up a few things in the creation on the 7th day, try looking at Exodus 20:11: "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day." Also notice that in mathematics, 6 is the smallest perfect number, because 6=1+2+3. That is, 6 is equal to the sum of all it's proper divisors, which are 1, 2, and 3. But 7 is not a 'perfect' number in mathematics. I personally think the relationship between 6 and 7 is best illustrated by drawing a circle with a compass. The circle naturally divides up into 6 equal arcs, with the aid of the same compass used to draw the circle. These 6 equal arcs can symbolize the 6 days of God's creation, while the 7th day of rest is symbolized by the center of the circle, and the point of the compass that remained at rest at the center of the circle, while the circle was being drawn. And of course, once you have drawn a circle with a compass, and divided it into 6 equal arcs, you can finish by drawing straight lines connecting the points, to form either a hexagon or a Star of David. Hence a number of artists in history have symbolized God's 6 days of creation by picturing a white haired man drawing a circle with a compass. So while 7 admittedly is the number most commonly associated with holy things in the Bible, that doesn't mean that 6 symbolizes imperfection. Consider that all life on Earth is based on carbon, the 6th element, with 6 protons in the nucleus of each atom, and 6 electrons whirling around the nucleus. The most common isotope of carbon is C12, which also has 6 neutrons in each nucleus. So consider a diamond, a crystal made of pure carbon. Imagine all those 6's lined up in rows like 666.... DIAMOND PERFECTION = 666 [by using Gk-Heb style gematria in English with A=1 to Z=800] So 666 might symbolize worshiping the perfection of the creation, while ignoring the Creator, or something like that.

The priest explained it. According to Jewish symbolism, 7 days means completeness/perfect (because God created the world in 7 days) hence 6 means incomplete or imperfect. In the Bible, if a word is repeated 3 times, in means the epitome or the absolute. The priest gave the example " Holy Holy Holy Lord God". With that said, a three 6 means absolute imperfection or absolute incomplete. The priest also said that it is not necessarily a creature but it can be an institution, set of values etc. Example of this is abortion and homosexuality whereas you can get cancelled now if you say something against it.

I don't believe emperor nero enforced the worship of himself. He was adopted and groomed for royalty mostly against his will and also because no other heirs were available at the time. He was certainly a paranoid individual regarding the possibility of internal threats against his life, but he was mostly into art and theater and left his providence often. Brutality against subjects were common place then and practiced by all prior emperors. His reputation of being evil probably stems from the persecution of Christians but Christians were being hunted down since the capture of jesus by the sanhedrin which continued in 1st century Palestine for quite a while. Even paul admits to being a persecutor of the believers before his conversion on the road to Damascus. I'm sorry but anything as far a the beast and all things associated with him in the book of revelation was for a future event and had very little to do with current events in the political and economical arena.

Fr William, this may be a mere coincidence but perhaps this is worth considering. Another place in scripture where "666" is used is in 1 Kings 10:14 where it mentions King Solomon receiving 666 talents of gold per hear. While there are no apocalyptic implications in that book - 1 Kings is not prophetic literature - it was King Solomon's increase in wealth that has led to his fall and corruption during that time. While King Solomon ultimately repented, it was his actions that ultimately led to the division of the kingdom and the Northern Kingdom falling to idolatry.

That's a good point. Perhaps the number 666 regarding the talents of gold indicate Solomon's imperfections, his lust for wealth, which led to his decline from Wisdom to foolishness, which led to the final break up of the kingdom. Also, while the books of Kings is not a work of prophetic literature, the books of the Bible are, nonetheless, attributed to the "prophets" of Israel. Not necessarily the prophets whose books we have in the Bible, but by the prophetic tradition of the Old Testament which retold history through the lenses of faith in order to emphasize the importance of covenant values and precepts, their ongoing call to return to them and the examples of history of what happens when the people stray away from them. This was an observation I made a few years back when I was studying the Kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament. I do keep in mind that King Solomon receiving 666 talents of gold per year was a literal number while the number of the beast was a cryptic number that the author of Revelation used to identify the beast. Some manuscripts use the number 616. Both 666 and 616 could be used to refer to Neron / Nero - whether it would be in Hebrew or in Greek. Having said that - according to tradition - the letter of Revelation was written after the time of Nero (during the reign of the Flavian Dynasty - specifically Domitian) so the identifier would not necessarily be literally Nero but rather an atrocious leader like Nero. Interesting - many of the bad emperors of Rome were compared to Nero much like most of the evil Kings of Israel's Northern Kingdom were compared to Jeroboam. Ultimately - God wanted to give some identification to the Beast. I fully concur with what you say that it's not so much the exact meaning of 666 but rather the effect of the number and the mark of the beast that is of importance.

You may be right. Keep also in mind that many of the symbolic references in the Book of Revelation hearken back to other aspects of Israel's past. Some from the distant past (Babylon), some very distant past (Exodus references to plagues) and maybe some from the recent past (Temple destruction and Nero persecution). Some comments of my presentations have called me out for not being as definitive in the interpretations of the symbols of Revelation - like they want to know "for sure" what each image means; something that is virtually impossible to do without getting inside the author's head. I think it is much more interesting to explore possibilities, because it forces us to use our imagination, informed by aspects of our faith and history to dive into what the images may mean. You are doing that as well with your relating the number to reference in the Old Testament.

It’s now accepted to partake in a whole conglomerate of services out there, visit healers, attend courses and “healing sessions” consisting of - to name but a few that is on offer ….., DNA activations/Life Activation, Divine Feminine classes, Spirit Guides workshops, Warriors of Light / Brotherhood and Sisterhood of Light / Hierarchy of Light, Enochian and Goetia - (conjuring of Demons) - as well as so-called healing techniques - (all of these teachings which can be traced all the way back to the Fallen Angels as stated in the Bible - it is Sorcery disguised as “serving the Light”), classes about and healings from Angels and Archangels, Fairies, Dragons, Unicorns, Vampires, kabbalah, sacred geometry, numerology, astrology, Adept / Empower Thyself initiations, ritual and ceremonial magick, wicca, druidism, celtic magick, alchemy, shamanism, workshops on self-love, galactic activations, - (supposedly received from a so-called alien - but in reality they are demons), healings, tarot and angel card readings, hypnotherapy, past life regressions, esoteric teachings, classes to develop your gifts of the spirit, keys to magick mastery, self-mastery, yoga, meditation, exorcists available for - (these are not Ordained Catholic Priests) - home and land cleansings and blessings, making and selling holy water and holy salt, baby blessings - you don’t even want to know what that involves...(and thousands of dollars are charged for this - and of course, when the parents have this done, they are deceived into thinking their babies have been “saved” - in the meantime it is a consecration of your baby to Satan and they do not have their babies baptised in a Christian or Catholic Church because they assume that the “baby blessing” is the same as baptism), Reiki sessions - which is “universal energy” being channeled through your body - this is a Buddhist healing modality and this Reiki energy is not of God, Crystal healing, workshops and retreats to learn how to channel, become a medium, a healer, so that you too can open your own spiritual practice and make money off desperate and vulnerable souls, Goddess ceremonies - (because people are being deceived and being taught to believe we are gods and goddesses), Binaural and Solfeggio music for relaxation, but it actually puts you in a trance-like state - emptying your mind….and now the demons have a doorway to enter. Then we have the seemingly innocuous healing sessions - for example “in the name of Christ and Holy Virgin Mary”. The Jesus they speak of is not the Jesus Christ of the bible! Mystery School / Occult / New Age teachings places their False Jesus as an “Ascended Master” who forms part of the Hierarchy of Light” and is part of the first “Quorum” - on par with Archangel Michael! Jesus Christ is God - he is the Creator, who created everything, including Archangel Michael, so how can he be lumped together with Archangel Michael.....and they do not teach that Jesus Christ is God made Flesh. They do not teach that it is only though Jesus Christ and his Word in Scriptures that we are saved. They conveniently do not teach Jesus - Son of God’s Words: “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me” And it's all promoted as seemingly in alignment with God's teachings - using the name of God, Jesus, Our Lady, Archangel Michael and Raphael as selling points, which when Christians see or hear this -they now think it's all ok…..but actually it's all Satanic.

I ignored the fact that "friar" is in the name of the video poster, because there are folks out there who are engaged in a particular religion and yet speak by Holy Spirit`s wisdom. However please allow me to share my understanding as it was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit, which I believe may also help us understand the scripture better. The scripture is very clear. It says: "Count the number of the Beast. For it is the number of a man". There are three important words we should take notice of which are keys to unlocking the correct answer to the question asked. And these are the words - "Count", "The number" and "A Man". Now the word Count means - Determine the number of objects in a group. Recite the number in sequence. The word "A Man" is not similar to the word "The Man". It is important to understand the words and what they mean. A Man is not a living being in this case because of the vowel "A". The Man is a living being. Hence the scripture says "Count the number of THE BEAST, for it is the number of A MAN. Notice that THE BEAST is a living creature. But "A" MAN is not. Therefore that means we need to find out what is the meaning of "A". A means a membership of a class of people or things. For example, A Doctor, A Teacher, A Nurse and so on. Therefore that means the scripture simply wants us to find the Membership of THE BEAST or Coat or Covering of THE BEAST. Your understanding of "prophecy" is wrong. Biblical Prophecy is not predicting the future. Biblical Prophecy is conveying the Word of God. Too often we equate prophecy with divination and the predicting of the future. In the case of Revelation the words are Prophecy insofar as they are conveying God's word to His Church. It is not predicting the future. Rather it is addressing what is currently happening, and God's deliverance of the people from their present crisis. Given that it is universal to persecuted people of all times, it is conveyed and preserved as a part of Scripture.

There is a difference between what the author of Revelation may have meant (i.e. Nero) and what the anti-Catholic agenda wants to project onto the inspired Scripture. The idea that the Pope is 666 is a product of the anti-Catholic agenda. Instead of waxing eloquently on what you think 666 means, why don't you look to the affect of the number and what it does to good Christian people today. The Pope preaches adherence to Christ and his teachings. But there are plenty of good Christian people who are pressured to renounce their faith and embrace an anti-Christian agenda or value system. Anti-Catholics tend to ignore this in favor or their anti-Catholic distractions, thus enabling the proverbial "beast" of the modern age to succeed, because those who might oppose it are too distracted by their bigoted, anti-Catholic agenda.

Years ago I worked summers on a farm in Michigan, near a fundamentalist Christian community. I didn’t know much about them other than that you didn’t want to get behind one of their members in a checkout line, because if their total had the number six in it, they would keep buying things until the sixes disappeared. This behavior came from a fear of having anything to do with the number 666, which some Christians have connected to Satan and see as a symbol of evil. The whole issue goes back to the New Testament’s Book of Revelation, particularly the verse which says, “One who understands can calculate the number of the beast, for it is a number that stands for a person. His number is six hundred and sixty-six” (Rev. 13:18). One wonders where all the fear about the sinister 666 comes from, because the author provided some pretty good clues about its meaning right in the passage.
