The Antichrist is called, in Revelation, the "dragon". And the dragon gives HIS power TO the first beast. The second beast demands the worship of the first beast. The false prophet will support the dragon and the two beasts, and a fifth figure, the whore of Babylon, will be a "rider" on the first beast. In total, we have FIVE distinct figures mentioned (other than the apocalyptic angels of the seven seals).

Correct observation. "The Antichrist" is not biblical. It's a term that is commonly used to peak interest in those who seek intrigue over truth. The Quran does this as well. Thanks for the enlightening approach to this overlooked subject!

The Beast out of the Earth is Apostate Israel which was represented by Old Jerusalem and it's Temple. Many believe that the Antichrist of 1 John is Nero as revealed above but some believe they are 2 different dudes. 2 Thess 2 was totally fulfilled in the first Century. Scholars like the Reformed Theologian R C Sproul, Dr Ken Gentry, Bruce Gore, etc think that Paul's " Man of Sin " " Man of Lawlessness" is referencing Nero. Hank Hanegraaff ( the Bible Answer Man on U tube) claims it's Caligula 🙂

Wow, someone who has it right. The beast is not anti christ, the false prophet, even satan is not anti christ. You are the only one i saw that spoke rightly. Almost everything bible related online is just sensationalism. John wrote the epistles and still doesnt use the word in revelation. People get carried away eith what they are taught in churches or tradition and dont wont to look at the Word of God for it is.

What you are claiming is as if the suffering servant who is pierced for our transgressions in Isaiah isn't Jesus, because Isaiah didn't use the exact name of Jesus. Or John the Baptist wasn't the Elijah to come and pave the way for Christ, because Malachi didn't use John's name. But Jesus draws the two. I agree people tend to draw conclusions off of opinions. Also we are called to draw conclusions off of text pointing to or hinting towards text. John wrote those letters being led by the spirit and using his description of "antichrist". When John writes Revelation he is told to write what he sees/hears from God. I agree the antichrist isn't the beast. He is the second beast. A false/anti Messiah with horns like a lamb. But even to your point, if John is saying a spirit of those against Christ is the antichrist, then both beasts still qualify.

I’ve been thinking about your comment since you posted it. First, let me appreciate your approach. Most of the comments are arrogant, and are not actually looking for conversation. Now that I’ve considered your comment, I do not believe my line of reasoning requires the other conclusions you claim I inferred. Neither the suffering servant nor the Elijah illustrations are exact parallels. No, Isaiah did not call the Servant “Jesus;” however, other inspired writers did (cf. 1 Peter 2:22). No, Malachi did not call John Elijah, but Jesus did (cf. Matthew 17:11-13). So we can know the Holy Spirit wants us to conclude that the Servant is Jesus and John was the Elijah to come. @@TopicalBibleStudies I appreciate your willingness to evaluate what is said by the body of believers and compare to scripture. You say we have received confirmation in the new (2nd) Testament of who John the Baptist and who the suffering servant is. I agree. But we don't have is a third or "after end of age" Testament on who the little horn, man of lawlessness, Gog (Exe 38-39) , beasts and seed of Satan (Gen 3:15) are? I agree they aren't all one person called the "antichrist". But they aren't nothing?

I am not sure who you are talking to, I assume the "This man" in your statement pertains to this KZbin channel creator? I agree, the beast is both an empire and person. Every empire has a leader and every leader has an empire (empire could be kingdom, army, businesses, franchise, religion, etc). Even true for Babylon in Revelation. Nazi, Germany is a great example for us today. Nazi, Germany was a beast/antichrist type. Was the Nazi army a beast army, yes! Did the Nazi beast army have a beast/antichrist leader, yes! Did this empire have a capitol city/location (Revelation says Babylon is a great harlot city) of operation, yes! So we can conclude Nazi Germany was a "type" of beast empire, with a beast/antichrist leader named Hitler, who had a harlot city of operation in Berlin. And we can take these same observations and apply them to the historical and cultural literature of God's Word and prophecy.

Depends on what translation you are using. I find the KJV, NKJV, NASB etc harder to read. I like the NIV the best if I am going to have to read aloud. And it is easy to understand. The NLT is very easy to understand, but maybe less accurate? The ESV is maybe the best of both worlds balancing accuracy and comprehension.

many modern bibles leave out key words and verses. before reading, ask our heavenly Father to reveal truth to you and he will. when I first started to read the bible, i would fall asleep, my mind would wander, etc. keep perservering, make a committment to read 3 - 5 chapters a day or do a challenge. Read on day one: Psalms 1, 31, 61, 91, and 121 and Proverbs 1. On day two read: Psalms 2, 32, 62, 92 and 122 and Proverbs 2. On day three: Psalms 3, 33,63,93, 123 and Proverbs 3 and so on. By day 31 you would have read all the Psalms and Proverbs. Also, when reading, read like you have been given a letter from you best friend, reading it slowly, and outloud (even if just a whisper). When I read it, I imagine myself sitting among the crowd listening to the teachings of Christ or the apostles. Looking from it from their culture and not from a western world. I hope this helps. Again, pray before you read, while you are reading and after you are done reading. It's ok to ask Him questions about the book you are reading, He wrote the book and He can answer the questions. I have had many questions answered while I perservered in my reading. Sometimes right away and sometimes, weeks or months later. But He always answers. Blessing in Christ!

The word Bible is found nowhere in scripture verses, either...not sure where the term "Bible" came from, but what I do know is, currently what is known as "The Bible" is really a compilation of 66 "books", letters, and lyrics to songs, known as "psalms". Neither is the terms "Old Testament" or "New Testament"...neither is the term "Trinity"...nowhere in the scriptures did God, or anyone in the scriptures, for that matter, refer to God as a "Trinity"...it's just not in there...so I don't refer to God as a Trinity. The scriptures never say that there are three persons in the Godhead...so I cannot be so presumptuous as to say that there are. The scriptures teach that Mary was found with child of the Holy Ghost in the first chapter of Matthew...doesn't take much to deduct that if Mary was found with child of the Holy Ghost, then that would make the Holy Ghost the Father of the physical body of Jesus Christ. Holy Ghost isn't a name, it is a pronoun, Father isn't a name, it is a pronoun...just One God. The scriptures never teach that there are "three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead"...that phrase is not in the scriptures. Per the scriptures, Jesus is GOD manifest in the flesh. Jesus stated "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father"...the scriptures teach that the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus. Jesus, per the scriptures, is God manifest in the flesh. Jesus taught to baptize in the name (not names) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost...what is that name? Jesus, per the scriptures. Peter knew this, and that is why in Acts Chapter 2 Verse 38 when the people, after hearing Peter preach, they asked "Men and brethren, what shall we do...Acts Chapter 2 verse 38, Peter responded the following...the verse states: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. "...the scripture teaches that if a person denieth the Son, doesn't have the Father either...and it does not make exception in this verse to ANY race, religion, faction, etc...is Jesus the Son His own Father? I contend scripturally that He Is...now the next part is not scripture, but I consider the possibility that when Satan in all his glory that God created him to be, was told by God that His choice was not to take a physical form of an Angel, but as a man, Satan was like "I'm not bowing to that"...we are the ones made in the image of God, and Satan hates us for it. But being in the image of GOD doesn't make us GOD, anymore than Barack Obama, as an example, is GOD just because he was made in the image of GOD...there is only One GOD manifest in the flesh, and that One GOD is Jesus per the scriptures. "8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Only One I know of scripturally that in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead (not Godheads, plural, but Godhead, singular), bodily, and that One is Jesus the Christ. Colossians Chapter 2 verse 8 and verse 9....now all that and five dollars might add up to about 5 dollars, unless of coarse the scriptures are endorsed, inspired, and legitimized by GOD Himself...then it means way more than 5 dollars...I suppose we shall all find out soon enough, won't we? This is a provocative presentation, yet it is also a bit shallow in some ways and therefore not covering the entire topic. Is "trinity" in the book of Revelation or anywhere else in the Bible? How about "the rapture"? Yet these and many other words are merely word descriptions of Bible phrases. And yet these words have often been abused to misrepresent the teachings of scripture. So, it can be a two edged sword, so to speak. John uses the word "antichrist" to describe the nature of those who spiritually oppose the nature or spirit of Jesus. Nevertheless, some individuals who have claimed spiritual authority over the church and had power to put people to death, persecute, torture, imprison, or to reward them for bowing down to them, indeed had the "spirit of antichrist". For example, the pontiffs or bishops of the Roman Papacy did these very abominations in the sight of God including holding the false doctrines that the Pope was the spiritual Father to the believers in Christ as God on the earth. This is found in the Roman Catholic liturgy hundreds of times throughout the 4th to 18th centuries. Also, the Papacy denies both the Father and the Son because it claims that His word is above the Word of God through his own interpretation of it. And those interpretations have changed hundreds of times between the 6th and 18th century in official capacity through papal bulls, encyclicals, etc as well as in modern times over the last 200 years. So, an individual can be called "the antichrist" in the context of an individual who is the head of such a false religion or movement above and beyond any other. God's prophets even describe such an individual with the attributes of "antichrist" such as in Daniel 7:8, 20-25 and Rev.13:2-8. The word "antichrist" does not necessarily have to be used to describe many in the past and the present who perfectly fit John's general description as this kind of evil agency or individual who is at war with Christ upon the earth and against His saints. The word "antichrist" linguistically means "instead of Christ" or "in the place of Christ". This is exactly what the papacy or pope of Rome has declared himself to be for many centuries. More specifically, Vicarius Filii Dei or vicegerent of God. Jesus Christ actually is the One who holds this position as He sits at the right hand of the throne of God and He represents God as His Son. This is what the Papacy has claimed for centuries and caused its world wide followers to believe. Furthermore, the Bible awakening in the Protestant Reformation during the 16th century caused many to identify the Roman Pontiff and His religious order as the "very antichrist" that was prophesied about in Daniel and Revelation in regard to the "little horn" and "the beast". They did so for the reasons I mentioned above; that John's description of antichrist fit perfectly with the character, nature, and works of the Pontiff of Rome and his global influence against strictly Bible believing Christians who put the authority of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, over the authority of the church controlled by the Roman Pontiff. This belief was also held by Christian groups who fled the regions controlled by the Roman bishop from the 3rd century onward. Some of these Bible believing Christians were the Waldenses, Albigenses, Cathari, Huguenots, and Presbyters, etc. There were many, many others as well. Even the Bible believing Christians who did not have to flee the Papal armies and later inquisition held the Pope of Rome as the antichrist. These were the ancient Coptic Christians and other Christian sects in North and East Africa, with exception to those in Alexandria who loved to place Greek philosophy and human reasoning above scripture as they did in Rome.

Anti means over against, opposite to, before for, instead of, in place of, and adversary. He is adversary of Christ and that is the beast of revelation. Some people argue that the prophecies given in the book of Revelation are describing events from ancient history, such as the time of the Babylonian and/or Roman empires. Some argue that events described in Revelation are generic and have already occurred. However, such claims and arguments are not correct. It is clear that Revelation 21 is a prophecy of the future, as it describes some kind of post tribulation heavenly city that is apparently cube shaped, and where the sun does not shine (but where the sun is also not needed). The book of Revelation is prophecy about the future, not about past events that have already occurred. This is quite clear in Revelation 13:7, whereby it mentions that the first beast of Revelation 13 somehow gains authority "over every tribe, people, language and nation". In other words, in order for Christianity to be a correct religion, there does have to eventually be some figure that comes along and which successfully take over the entire world. This has never happened before in the history of the Earth. The Earth has never had a "one world government". The "666 beast" is not Nero Caesar or any other figure from history. All comparisons between the first beast of Revelation 13, and any historical figure, is speculative, is incorrect, and it is not compatible with the actual words presented in the book of Revelation. It would appear that there is far more misinformation currently circulating amongst Christians regarding "the antichrist", than actually correct information. There are many conflicts in various people's individual claims, and they cannot all be correct simultaneously. Part of the problem, is that people are speculating and coming up with "creative interpretations" of whatever it is that they have heard and/or read in the past, rather than actually knowing God, and getting information directly from God. The vast majority of people that currently talk about topics relating to religion, and try to lead others into believing various things of a religious nature, have never personally received a single word from God, nor do they have any true understanding or insight into the true nature of God, or of God's plans for the Earth. The information presented in the book of Revelation is very limited, as it leaves out a great many details, and it is written in a symbolic way that leads to all kinds of "creative interpretations", that are generally quite incorrect. In large part, the blind are leading the blind. There are a relatively small number of people on the Earth today, which genuinely do hear from God (or at least, some kind of supernatural entity or entities of high intelligence) and they do receive various information and insights (albeit not all of it correct). These individuals are currently fairly unknown to the world, although this will change in the future.

Not trying to be offensive, but i think the view in this video IS a LOOSE view of Scripture. If calling the Beast of Revelation THE Antichrist is a problem., (who is Every bit an ANTICHRIST in every sense of how John described him), . . . Then call him what you will to make it easier for you. None of that was explained in this video. i am also troubled by how God's revelation to the world that pours out His Wrath, is reduce to an earlier time period focused on one very small section of the World (forced context), and does not even match the evil done in the world since.
