Noah’s website and KZbin channel is chock full of useful information, some free and other subscription based. Pay close attention to how he holds his trowel in the chinking videos…it will cut down on your time and waste. The Bearded Carpenter channel on KZbin is also very educational…Mr. Paul is an excellent an detailed craftsman.

Really nice and so informative. I'm so glad I found your channel. I am about to undertake a similar project and your video answered so many questions. Thanks for sharing!

I like the fact that you have shown your trial and error in this job. Your ability to take on new tasks is inspiring and it shows that anyone can do something if they so desire. I like that you are building all this in a quality minded environment, as it shows that you have a vision you want to achieve, and that the vision must last. I am curious as to the tractor issue. I have a 33 no new holland and had some minor issues when it was new, and wondered if your issues were like mine. I had a throttle replaced, and had issues with blockage in fuel line, which was resolved by blowing out fuel line backwards. Just had stuff get into tank while fueling that made for problems. I am enjoying your videos, your energy and your desire to build a future for your family and for others. Watching from. Beautiful Chuckey Tennessee

Thank you Norm! Yes, be are truly learning as we go. We know we don't know much and are willing to show that anyone can learn and accomplish something new! I have always enjoyed working with my hands and creating things, so even though I have self doubt about my abilities, I am working through the fear and seeing what is possible. I will have Chuck tell you what is happening with the tractor. I believe he got it working this morning!

Hey Norm I had purchased a fuel tank recently and did not check for water. Big mistake as I pumped it right into my tractor. Two fuel filters and a line bleed later we are back in business.

@@chuckanderson1770 great that you were able to fix it. I love my new holland tractor, but really only use it to cut the grass, move debris with the bucket, and maintain the driveway. I appreciate everything you all are doing, how it is positively impacting your children, and the joy of stewardship of your land. Be proud that all your hard work has brought you to this point where you are now able to impact others from a different perspective other than their jobs. My wife and i have a virgin growth cedar log cabin on 16 acres in the national forest in the bald mountain area of the Appalachian Highlands. We did not build it, another gentleman with vision and love for the woods did, but he passed many years ago while helping the neighbor cut hay. We were able to buy this cabin after it lay empty for a decade. His wife loved it and was hesitant to sell it until we came along and knew we wanted to be stewards of his legacy. These are wonderful, strong, proud people, and we are grateful to be welcomed into their community.

Love the testing. I’m a quilter and I always make a test block. It saves so much time!!

@@freedomranchhomestead7961 I’m pretty proud of the ones I’ve made. I’ve won a few blue ribbons as well as others. I tried crocheting, my hands had different ideas. Haha

I love to build guys. I want to do the same thing myself. One question? Has Dan worked on any boats lately? Boat named tally ho or Acorn to Arabella. You look real real familiar. I do want to do an A-frame log home. And if you want to check out other log homes that are being built check out the channel. The Outsider. Real nice young family building a log cabin in the wilderness of Canada with the help of his father. Real real good crashing work they did on the outsider. Back to your home beautiful. I like the circus tent to different but eye-opening😮😊. Thank you for the videos I'll keep watch until I get caught up. I'm not forgiving to give the thumbs-up. God bless

Hey Nathan! I do not believe Dan ever worked on boats. He's pretty much a land guy 😜. Thank you for watching and giving us a 👍🏻. We appreciate it so much!

Use a mortar board and push it in with a trowel. No waste and faster

Your using the wrong side of trowel

I would strongly recommend you go to another you tube channel and watch how they do the chinking, my intentions were not to hurt anyone’s feelings. Good luck.

We have watched quite a few and are certain there are more to learn from. We are becoming more skilled as we work on the cabin and it is starting to look really good (you will see in the next video!). We are happy to admit we don't know much about what we are doing, but we hope we can inspire others to step out of their comfort zone and try something new (which is truly the case for me, as I grew up in La Jolla, CA and am starting from scratch with learning how to build a homestead in the country!!)
