Really enjoyed seeing the fab. Will be nice to see the car rolling in competition again. Keep on wrenching. Oh, and yes, nice grinding too. :)

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to cover the Autocross racing the way you do. I have found your videos to be informative and professional. So much mess on here with a pile of cussing and bad mouthing. Keep up the great work!

Great video. I have a 65’ mustang project that I’d like to take to an occasional autocross. I’m going with Mike Maier mod 1 suspension and eventually wilwood brakes.

Good stuff. Mike is a friend and makes some good parts too!

..and over 2yrs later, I'm the one person that never expected to be a leaning towards a 650hp SBF vs an LS3, LOL. Once again, the elders know a thing or 2 about a thing or 2 . . . stay safe Chad. #peace

@MrJlainez114 жыл бұрын
I race at Willow Springs track days with extreme speed track events. Still working out a couple of kings with the suspension But car has been doing pretty Good. It's a 72 cutlass with full UMI suspension and and A 408LS Engine and T56. Looking forward to trying it out on the auto cross.

Great build! What's the benefit of the full floater?
@AutoXandTrack4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. A full floater offers a number of benefits. It’s safer and stronger. Eliminates brake pad knock back. And allows negative camber.

Nice to see the project moving forward. I have the same wilwood calipers on the rear of my 67. I’m also curious to see what your car weighs. Great videos.

It’s getting corner balanced before it leaves the shop. Probably see that in part 6. Hopefully next week.

Looks great! Nice contrasting color choice for the components. Whats your plan with those rollcage bars?
@AutoXandTrack4 жыл бұрын
Which bars?
@tylerhess33834 жыл бұрын
The bars in the engine bay that used to tie into the old shock towers
@AutoXandTrack4 жыл бұрын
I’ll either remove them entirely if the whole cage gets redone. Or try to reuse them I’d that part of the cage can be saved. I’ll sleeve them inside if I reuse them and continue the bar to the upper shock mount like I explained in the video. Though I’d like to redo the two bars that go diagonally either way. They are too close to the valve covers.
@tylerhess33834 жыл бұрын
Gotcha, must have missed when you explained that.

Talking about rear end and axles. Is the rear end housing or axles from your 68 camaro offset? So that your wheels fit in perfect in the well. Awesome video btw.
@AutoXandTrack4 жыл бұрын
The Camaro rear end is narrowed and the pinion is centered in the housing similar to the Mustang so that it uses two different length shafts. Centering then axles in the wheel wells is fine tuned with the panhard bar.

the secret I used way back was the 65 rear (narrow) on the 68: 2" narrower. I think as an autocrosser, this unit may suprise you, even with the 3.50 gears.
