67004 Rescues 55009 at Berwick

Unfortunately due to traction motor flash overs 55009 was declared a failure at Berwick. 67004 was sent from Heaton to assist

Deltic 16 had the similar engine fire whilst on the test run and it happened in Loughborough

First Deltic failure at Berwick not caused by a DPS committee member. Roger and the butterfly valve not guilty this time. Instead a contractor not bothering to tighten the traction motor cables.

this is where deltic 55022 stood there in 1996 thanks to engine fire and the class 37 was called in to help out as far as newcastle

55009 is at the repair shops in burton on trent. Waiting to be fixed apparently.

I was a steward on that train we didnt get back to doncaster till 1.30 in morrning. We were at that station for some time

ita a pity but lets hope the owners get it fixed asap. mishaps do happen sometimes. look at Hornby locos with motor failures.

that's the second deltic in trouble they had double trouble with royals scots grey with engine going up in flames and as for alycidon it derailed on the nene valley railway and now this traction motor flash
