Vaguely from memory, the FIAT group - grupo fiat, owned Lancia and Alfa Romeo and were successful in saloon car racing around 1990 with the 155 4-cylinder and the 156 V6. These cars paved the way for DTM.

@@easy6380 I think it's down to what class the car's built for. I might be wrong but I think Dondi is in the N/A open class, so any Evo could be in that class too, so long as it doesn't have forced induction. You wouldn't normally compare a Judd powered Merc with 800bhp to a X1/9 unless it was in a time attack event haha. I think Dondi was beating everything in this class at one point or another. I think it's cool seeing an X1/9 still going strong in 2022. That car was designed in 1973 ffs✋👍👌 Just read in another comment it's in performance.37 under FIA regs.

@@markbowden7238 I don't think there's much X1/9 left as they were really slow, tiny engine, zero power. It doesn't even look remotely like a Fiat anymore.
