@Ninjahenry808 yes your correct the captain has alot of responsibility and liability for the ship and the crewmembers on his boat. But bad crew members with no regards to the equipment and bringing in the fish and a bad attitude just makes the day go bad. And lost of fish Means lost of money and time. Inexperienced crewmembers and bad attitude falls short of bringing in fish.

At auction you got $1.53 per pound? For fresh mahi on Oahu? During winter? The supply vs demand thing prevails, but that's robbery. For mahi, I got a straight $1.25 cash in Hilo back in 1970s. You're right, support local.

People should buy from the fisherman DIRECTLY off peer. Thos "dealers" are all full of shit. Making profit on other people's hard earned catch. I buy my fish directly from my favorite vessel. They have a app and let us know when they arrive. Same for our local farmers.
