That's a cool deal you got there. In the 70's and 80s I bought a Coronet R/T for $300 a Roadrunner for $500. A 66 hemi charger $500 and GTS 383 4spd Dart for $200.00 And drove 3 of the 4 cars home. The charger was minus the hemi. Those were the days !
@deankallstrom1968Ай бұрын
Yes,they were! I bought a black over red 68 Coronet R/T for $1k in 88. Bought my 68 Charger R/T(still own) for $400 in 89. And too many more to mention. Yup,”the good old days “.

First comment I've gotta make, I love the gauge connected to the outside mirror on your Ford here. I'm watching and it doesn't seem to move so I don't know what it is, but what a great idea! Okay, on to the video...

cool to see another 68 GTX similar to mine. I've owned my GTX for over 40 years and it was my daily driver in high school. lots of other cars have come and went over the years but the GTX is the one I've kept all along. mine is a B3 ice blue car with a white top and white side stripes and white interior and is a factory 440 4 speed dana car however like your car it is also very base with manual brakes and steering and no options. funny and ironic i have always told everyone i like it because its like a roadrunner with a big motor. good luck with it

Not knocking yours by no means,but in 93 I bought a 68 GTX 440-4speed - Dana 60 rear complete bumper to bumper but when I bought it I had to take everything mopar that was there,so it came with four 18 spline four speeds,one had a pistol grip shifter,nine sets of 906 heads- four heavy duty radiators-a complete 1970 -340 ,one 1969 440 short block,all of this for the outrageous price of 1.200! Those were the days.
@deankallstrom1968Ай бұрын
Yes,no kidding they were the days. In 1989 I bought my 68 Charger R/T 440,4 spd for $400. It’s the red one in my videos .

I think that is close to the original color of my 75 360 duster! I bet it is close but probably actually a different shade. Bet the colors available were most likely not the same by 75 of coarse. That was a pretty car back in the day!

@jessicawells5145Ай бұрын
Who ever wreaked this car must have loved it cause the amount of damage under the hood it should have been totaled back in the day cause as bent as the driver side is there’s no way it drives right or straight,maybe after the wreck it went to auction patched together enough to look like a driver.crazy how people did things back then.

I noticed something different about your speedometer,mine had the factory tac but mine was just double digits.and went to 150 and it was 0 to 50, don’t know why Plymouth did that but I’ve seen it on all 68 ,GTXs. I’m willing to bet your speedometer came out of a police car cause I e never seen a 68 GTX with a 140 speedometer

@deankallstrom1968Ай бұрын
Yes,jan 69 not jan 68 like I said in the video.
@wilsixoneАй бұрын
@@deankallstrom1968yes, after Jan 1, 1969 headrests were mandatory. On GM cars, they did the whole year regardless what month. Also, the locking steering column was mandatory for 1970 m/y, but GM, again, all 1969 and beyond had locking column. Interestingly, many 1969 Chryslers (et al) did NOT have headrests for whatever reason. You would think they were produced early then, but judging by how many I've seen w/o headrests, I wonder if they just let them go missing the headrests...
