Fly Tying - How to tie the Black Cat

The Black Cats Whisker mini lure , this is one of my variations of this fly. This was pretty successful on Loch Leven back in the day. Last year fishing on Harray Loch in Orkney i put this fly on and had a cracking day fished on the airflo Di 7 sweep.

Thread - UNI 8/0 Black
Tail - Black Marabou
Body - Globrite Chenille No12
Thorax - Lime green and silver Synergy Fritz
Wing - Black Marabou
Over wing - 3 strands of gold freckle flash doubled over
Cheeks - Jingle Cock

Hi Stevie, a wee tip to expose the core on your chenille is to dip it in acetone and comes off real easy, saves on score nails😂 great pattern will give it a go.cheers Jimf

My mate used to tie nearly identical pattern but he used straggle for the collar and that humungous sparkle (don't think they still make it) in the wing. Good fly
