Great Video. Thank you. I do have a question, if you were to replace the stock transmission pan for one like an ATS 68RFE DEEP TRANSMISSION PAN which adds 4 more qtrs. of ATF+ oil to reduce oil temp, will that cause a P0933 Code? And what if a P0933 code was fixed once before, and within 6 months it happens again with the same code? Thanks

Can you please do a lesson on the 2019+ 68rfe? There are a LOT of people getting codes for p0765 and p0750. Mostly after tuning. I believe this may have something to do with needing a pi curve relearn. No one can figure it out! There is a relationship with it happening while 6th is locked and cruise control on. Thank you!

I bought a replacement valve body for my 2018 68rfe and they sent me a valve body with the 545AB separator plate, but has the grey connector. Should I send it back or will it work without damaging anything?

I would make sure what you're pulling off you're reinstalling... miss-matched parts can cause all kinds of issues. More importantly, you should have a n updated solenoid body. here's a good part number from WIT (Whatever it takes transmission parts) D72420B Price: $529.47 Core Charge: $0.00 Available: 250 Solenoid Assy, 45RFE/5-45RFE/ 65RFE/66RFE/68RFE (23 Prong White Connector)99-UP (This Will Fit 2011-18 W/Gray Conn With Less Prongs) THIS INCLUDES D72991-3

Here's some info: TRS Plate Identification and Interchange The Dodge RFE transmissions series has undergone some changes with the solenoid block and now another change with the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) plate. We will describe the solenoid block change and the TRS plate change. We will help identify parts and interchange parts so there will be no more confusion on what to use and when. Black Connector Solenoid Blocks: The first RFE transmission was in 1999 and was the 45RFE. The 45RFE was a four speed and in 2001 the change the computer controls to make it a five speed and called it a 545RFE. They both came with a black connector solenoid block from 1999-2003. Black Connector Solenoid Blocks (continued): There are two things that can only work with the black connector solenoid block. The Transmission Range Sensor plate and the solenoid base gasket are not interchangeable with any other solenoid. The black solenoid block should always be updated to the white-style connector. We will describe what needs to be change along with the solenoid later. The black solenoid came with a type 1 Transmission Range Sensor plate (TRS). To identify the TRS plate measures the pocket depth in the TRS plate. It should measure .118” deep to fit the black solenoid block type. The black connector solenoid block has to match the base gasket. Do not use this base gasket on any other solenoid block. White Connector Solenoid Blocks: The white connector solenoid block came out in 2004 with an updated (type 2) Transmission Range Sensor plate. This can be found in the 545RFE and 68RFE transmissions. To identify the type 2 Transmission Range Sensor plate measure the pocket depth, it should measure .156” deep. Also measure the side of the plate to manual valve slot, it should measure .260” wide. This type 2 plate has shifter positions P R N D 2 1. The key point is manual 2 and manual 1 position, this changed in the later years and we will talk about that later. The white connector solenoid block base gasket is different than the black connector solenoid block base gasket. The white connector solenoid block will replace all of the different type of solenoids. You just have to make sure you use the correct type of Transmission Range Sensor plate. Gray Connector Solenoid Blocks: The gray connector block came out in 2009 and has one less solenoid then the white connector solenoid. It uses the same base gasket as the white connector solenoid. The Transmission Range Sensor plate is where the confusion starts. From 2009 to around 2011 will still use the type 2 Transmission Range Sensor plate as described earlier when there is a manual 1 and manual 2 positions on shifter. There is no cut-off day on the change to the type 3 Transmission Range Sensor plate. To identify the type 3 Transmission Range Sensor plate, measure the pocket depth of .156” and the side of the manual valve slot will be .500”. This type 3 plate fits models with no manual 1 or manual 2 shifter positions. The gray connector solenoid can be replaced with a white connector solenoid. Just make sure you use the right Transmission Range Sensor plate. You can use the white connector solenoid on all model RFE transmissions. Use the type 2 Transmission Range Sensor plate if you have manual 1 and manual 2 on the shifter. If you don’t have manual 1 or manual 2 on the shifter, use the type 3 Transmission Range Sensor plate.

@atra-automatictransmission1300 You are a book of knowledge. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, this clears up the confusion ive been reading about on various forums. Another thing I learned about was after all is replaced i needed to do a rfe relearn fornit all to work correctly again. So far no pressure sensor codes came back. Tha k you so much for your help.
