Can't believe this song and movie is 20 years old now, the years have flown by so quickly. The ending of the movie still gets me after all these years.

If you'd read the book that would've really got you 😔. He changed the ending and although sad it's not near as sad .

breathtakingly beautiful, slow words to connect to, her anguished but sweet voice, the weeping violin, her truths.. haven't we all looked for a softy place to hide...

The fiddle ( violin) is so perfectly done. It makes the song all the more heartbreaking to me

This song & the movie are almost identical to my life. Except for the wedding 💍 & having a daughter. I have had several nervous breakdowns. My 🐎 is who I tell all my 💙 problems too. I had a very good friend that I met in 1994/5. No one wanted me to be around him. But I had no issues with him at all. This man was a lot like Robert Redford's character in the movie. He made me feel safe & I thought I could run to him w/ anything that was bothering me..... I knew that he would do anything & everything in his power to help me, AT ALL COST. But like the ending of the movie....he got married had several (#?) children & I left him behind. Oh how 💘 will steer you in so many directions. Great Movie & absolutely love this song. Oh how I wish I could sing like her.

Just spent a week driving around the Idaho backcountry with no radio or cell phone reception. I had picked up a 25 cent CD in a Montana thrift store-- the "Horse Whisperer" sound track. Never saw the movie but this song is now burned into my brain! Best quarter I ever spent!

Best song ever, perfect artist to perform this song. It's been my favorite song for over 20 years, it touches me deep in my soul....if there's such a thing as a soul song this is it for me. I can never listen to it once, I have to play it over and over, it takes me to a very special place in my being. Love the instrumentals and the crying of the fiddle speaks volumes.

I know a girl named Cindy that makes my spine turn into Jello. Just the touch of her hand or the smile on her lips sends me over the moon. Don't get me started about her eyes. It's like looking into the Gulf Stream. I was married to a selfish, unappreciative pile of fertilizer. My own fault but I put up with it for my kids' sake. It was worth the wait to find this angel. I smile from the time I wake until the time I sleep, and dream of her in my slumber. My life is now good and I am so grateful and happy. I will accomplish so many good things now that I have an angel to guide me. I love you Cindy more than words can ever say.

What you said is so beautiful. I can relate to it very well. I've know the kind of women you speak to... and I threw away decades of my life with them. Now I know someone who I love with every fiber of my being. With every thought that runs through my mind. With every dream that enters my sleep, but now I'm old... (78) and no longer healthy.(triple bypass in 2019 and a pacemaker and type two diabetes). I knew too many women who "helped" spend what little money I had. I have nothing to offer that will live beyond me. We haven't seen each other since before my heart surgery... and have a "long distance" life. She has health problems too and neither or us can drive anymore. There's a lot of self pity goin on right now. Aaron Nevel and Linda Ronstat released a song many years ago that said "I don't know much, but I know I love you". I dream of dreams that will never be... and heartaches that will never leave. I'm happy for you. You found someone to occupy your thoughts and live in your heart, who's only a heartbeat away. Love her... and tell her how much she means to you... and treat her in ways that show that.
