The "watch this video next" card thing at the end of the video (last 30 seconds or so) perfectly covered the left taillight as you demonstrated it. No bueno

Nice! I always want to get into LED taillights for the cool programmable stuff you can do with them but I can't get over seeing the individual LEDs showing through the lens. I love the fully diffused look of an old school bulb. 🍻🍻
@Buldg873 жыл бұрын
This is why I usually end up doing LED replacement bulbs, but then 90% of the time you lose the option to do all that cool programmable stuff. I do know that United Pacific makes a tail light controller that lets you do sequential patterns as long as you have three bulbs on either side. That way if you wanted you could do LED bulbs, keep the diffused look, and still get some cooler looking patterns. Their part number is 90656

I like when Alvin speaks. I always liked the Mercury Cougar signal lights when the Cougar first came out, then the new Mustang copied a few yrs back.

But they both "copied" the Thunderbird which had them years before even the Cougar.

The backside of the housing is inside the trunk. The seal behind the lens also seals to the rear facia.

There's another seal that should be installed over the metal piece that affixes the lens to the bucket. This is a thick rubber piece that seals the whole assembly to the body. www.cjponyparts.com/taillight-body-pad-1969/p/TLBP5/

I went 100 percent LED on the c10, and the bright factor is reason alone. Stock bulbs in 60's vehicles are just awful when you compare them. Going home from any cruise night with old timers who haven't converted is just awful. I get it if its a perfect restoration, but if you actually intend to use your vehicle, I wouldn't go any other way.

Looks like whoever sells these boards could also stand to sell something to diffuse the light, to avoid the look of "Hotspots" on individual LED's. Hell, even some appropriately sized 1-2mm opaque acrylic would do.
