Thanks for another riveting video, really love them. I just wish we had the technology that you guys have now back in the 70's when I was your age and working on cars. We were lucky to get 200hp and would be telling our mates we made that much. I rarely comment but thought should know you have an older audience 👍

I like the look of the 90L long range tank on VN's for some reason, I think from memory it was a popular option for sales rep's company cars, cheers for another good video Chris.

Yep- the Police V8's and Statesman V8's & V6's had them- i put a VQ Stato long range tank into my 1993 VR Executive, and later added the trip computer/ dash from a VR Calais (with some wiriing mods). Used to get around 700km from a mildly worked 3.8lt NA, and once twin turbo+ stroked, only lost 100km-ish per tank. Had to modify the straps a bit from memory, i repainted the tank black and did the straps in like an Asteroid Silver- with the Aquamarine paint on the car it looked really nice from the rear

@@MindieJ I'm with Jeff on the caps . They were carry overs , aka left over stock parts bin . Go to the vortex style steel rim(VL Calai turbo/VN berlina series 1). However vortex caps from both , series 2 exec & berlina V8 are ✔ & RARE . Your project rocks . 👌

I was thinking the radio looks similar to a VK one, but im sure the buttons were a tad different. Someone mentioned perhaps a VG, could be as the VG was just shit thrown together, but some VG's had the VP or even early VR radio as it was like the unwanted Redheaded step child

You can rev a stock LS3 to 7k (yeah I'd be wanting to do the rockers and lifters for long term though), 7.5k on a built LS is perfectly fine if you know what you are doing.

Deck length is about1.8m, 500kg lift reaches 1.5m, tailgate height/length 450-550mm?! 500mm engine lifting at 250mm centre mass (1.8m (deck length) minus 250mm (half of engine) equals 1.55m. Give or take the maximum100mm for rounding measurements and I kinda feel we're getting pretty damn close to 1.5m reach bruv. Thats with leaving a foot of room to keep hydraulic safe too. But hey, there was that one Wednesday that I sat down to pee and then punched a puppy 🤦. So maybe I'm wrong again 🤷
