This is my friend's second Kindle. kzbin.infoUgkxOnUR4NaproSbBbD2sdI4XcDZ58Jz8GOx The first one which is about 5 or 6 years old quit charging because the bottom connector went bad. When I saw they upgraded to a USB C connector I knew it was time. I think the old USB Micro connectors are a PIA. Her new one is great. It synced right out of the box and connected to WiFi immediately. The thing is perfect! Sooo mine will arrive tomorrow. (Been reading off an old Fire) What bugs me are the reviewers that give this product one star because it didn't work out of the box or they were too dumb to figure it out. If it doesn't work send it back and get another one. It couldn't be easier with Amazon. Giving it one star because it didn't work says nothing about a good one that does work. I bet a bad one is one in a thousand or more. Give it a break...just get another one.

Afterr lusting after the Kindle Scribe, I succumbed to a fantastic lightning deal. I love it. I review books for ALA's review journal, which are now all pdfs that did not play well with Kindle. Now I can read the pdfs without adjusting every page, write my review in a notebook, and send a text version to myself to copy and paste into the review form. E-books are a pleasure, too, and I've only scratched the surface of what I can do with the notebooks. One of the best investments I have ever made.

It is quite promising how the Kindle versions develop. Still decided to go with a new Paperwhite signature edition as replacement of my old kindle. The Scribe can certainly be nice, if you really use the features and - for many - if it finally gets a handwriting to text function. And if you can live with the weight. I guess it might annoy me. But for others like me who will not make much use of the functions it is too pricey. I just want to read, I hope that when the new Paperwhite turns old in a few years there will be an updated version of the Oasis.

Did you get this Kindle device? How was the experience.
@eriketropolski4248
@eriketropolski4248 11 ай бұрын
I've had this device for 2 weeks now. It is missing some basic settings like how long to wait before going to standby, or how to enlarge system fonts. The blacks are not really black but grey and when you read a PDF is it painfully visible. The default contrast is not as good as it was on my previous kindle which is a very old model. I wanted it to read PDF files and I find the process tedious. The two finger enlargement actually is hard to control. The text goes to very big very fast. About the notes. Did you notice the author keeping his hand above the surface while writing? That is because if you have more than one page, it tends to go backwards to the previous page if you rest your palm on it. The writing experience is great really the feeling of it and the speed of the marker. But overall for me this device is too expensive for what it can offer. Look at the details when you decide.

As a reading device it lacks the ability to remove books from the home page to the library where the collections are. Organizing your books is important so the home page isn't being cluttered with new books you have purchased or books you have read but don't need them on the home page any longer. The Kindle App on the iPhone, iPad, and Fire have the capability to remove the books back to the library and into collections. Amazon software writers please help the reader have the control for a more pleasant reading experience.

Zero interest in the note taking stuff, but I really love just having a big ass kindle to read on. Smallest font size, biggest screen. Its pretty glorious. The battery life is insane. I think the folio cover is pretty crap, contrary to this video. In my experience it is very easy to accidently lever it out of the case and get your face smacked by the kindle. It also offers very litte protection from a drop, as the kindle will 100% always fly out of it.

Better get an iPad with a paperlike screen protector, you get the same writing feel but with endless more capabilities. I think the price for this is really too much for what it offers. Bein its basically just a kindle for only reading, with added note taking application, but nothing else. If you could do more with it than just creating a new note and write something down then ok. But 300$ extra just for pen an note is too much.

While the Scribe does give a better *reading* experience than the Paperwhite with the larger page, I find that it's just a touch heavy and uncomfortable in my hands after a while when reading in bed. I've had so many Kindles, I don't own any of them now. All had feeling of "something lacking" and tries too hard to "sell you something" through connecting to Amazon Cloud everytime you tried to do something. On the other hand, I enjoy reading using Kobo though it's not as quick and responsive as the Kindle. Everyone is different so this might work for most people while I enjoy reading mostly but need the large screen to read PDFs with backlighting. Comfort lighting is a big plus that makes you feel like you're actually reading a paper book. Just my two cents.

Amazon always claims their devices are faster but they are always slow as all hell. The kindles. The kindle fire, Alexa’s with screens is almost laughable.

I just purchased a scribe paperwhite but the enlarge text page you describe I cannot find so they must have changed some things cuz I have selected the large size text but it still needs reading glasses for me to read it and that's a deal breaker I will not sit for hours squinting thru coke bottle glasses in order to use this product so IF I'm missing something tell me now before I toss this kindle in the trash ...it's not gonna work like this ..!

Excellent stuff. Simple and well made with some great b-roll! You’ve got a great relaxing tone which happily made me watch all this very informative video. You smashed it 😊 (As a fellow, and relatively new, KZbinr you’ve given me some food for thought when making vids.)

Can this, or any other e-writer, handles lists so that I can easy remove done items, change the order priority of items in a list etc. It would also be nice to have notes on a list item that are hidden until the list item is selected. I currently use a supernote and like it in general but I spend my life making lists and lists are just handles like any other text which really isn't very useful to me. I've had a paperwhite for years and love it when it comes to reading - the waterproofing is particularly useful for when reading in the bath!

It does have a web browser, so can't we just read the article on it rather than paying for the push to kindle app? Just curious. Haven't purchased it yet. Planning to do so soon.

Very interesting for note taking, but....uhg, I honestly feel like these e-notebooks are just way to expensive for what it is. Maybe if it was 100-120.

The missing feature is Note to Text. All my other notes on every platform are in text format. They aren't images. I can't use image notes with any other part of my daily life. They're stuck on this device. If I want to go out to a cafe and write, any writing I do on this device is useless, stuck on it. The only way to convert it to text is to export it from the device. That's too much friction to actually get used.

Hi, I would like to buy this with pen because English is my second language so I would like to circle around some words that I do not know and write my own language next to the words on the novel book, that possible? After write the meaning of the words in my language, when I turn on the same page, can I see my own language next to the English vocab? Your reply will be appreciated.

I went to store to check this device yesterday but sadly it doesn't have what I need. (1) doesn't have available all language as android device so i cant type note in my own language. (2) cant hand note on book with my own language(only text note). I can only use hand note on English books.

My favorite part of this video is seeing someone with similar hand writing as me to use the product. My hand writing SUCKS and it was horrible on an ipad mini I use to own. I got rid of that tablet a while again and have had my eyes on the scribe for a bit. I love the iPad but wanting a focused reading and note taking device and the scribe hits it. Think I may order it now

Nope, not a typo. 3-4 months, screen on for at least an hour per day. It does drain a bit faster if you’re writing on it constantly, so if you’re writing hours per day, you might see worse battery life but that’s still very impressive compared to a normal tablet. - Josh

@@ch3ckm8 I use mine in airplane mode, so ymmv but mine lasted many months on its first charge. I got through 5-10 books and it was at like 30%, it only got charged at that point because i was transferring a file to it and left it plugged in.
