Thank you for posting this helpfull video. I would need your advice on a situation that I am currently facing, and couldn't get a scientifc answer to my case to all visits I paid to local mechanics. I drive a 2015 Mustang GT, that was like a charm ! The car has only 120,000 KM with 6r80 automatic transmission. I went to a track day for the first time, and after that the transmission started to behave wiered when changing from 3rd to 4th gear after the track. there are ZERO erros, scanned by Forscan and LUANCH on the whole car. I then re-installed the stock air filter and loaded the stock tune (from JLT air filter and SCT pre-loaded tune), expecting the car to go back to normal. I drove it for 40 KM so far, but the problem seems to be still existing though it happens "intermittently" Yes, I smelled something in the track day but not sure where was it coming from. Could it be solenoid issue? is it the clutch? the tcm?

If on 3-4 shift, i would say rear stator bushing is worn out or maybe valvebody issue, Rear stator bushing is a fairly common problem for a 3-4 flared shift

I wonder why they would want the core? Do you think they would weld that long crack and re-machine the part and sell it as a re-manufactured piece? I can't understand why they would want the core charge-- unless it's just for the scrap metal-- being a special steel or something. Or maybe they test it and see what went wrong and why/where it failed? ?? idk

Yes, could be a worn E clutch or worn out rear stator bushing

2009 ford f150 4.6 engine with 6r80 transmission, had 193,500 miles. Wrench light came on december 2023 and use my obd2 scanner DTC p0741 for torque converter. And I reset the code, few weeks later, as I put "lubicant shutter fixx into transmission, then as i heading on Febrary 2024 as i was going uphill i felt a stud sound, and wrench light came on, recheck the obd2 scanner there the same code p0741. And as i drain out the transmission fliud, i stripped the bolt that holds the transmission pan, and as the bolt head broke during the stripped, I tried using the extractor tool but it also broke. We tried to put transmission back on after we replaced the seal, torque converter, working on unstable ground makes it tough to reinstall the tranny back. Any clue on what to do here.
@GaryFerraro2 ай бұрын
so basically you broke a pan bolt?
@raymondjohn33962 ай бұрын
@@GaryFerraro yes, and the as I saw a thunderstorm coming towards me, I rush to put pan back together, but I accidentally stripped the bolt and the head of the bolt broke. Next day later, I took the tranny pan off and I use a small drill bit to drill the strip bolt and it drill through but I'm risking the threads and might do it wrong. I use a extraction tool but it broke.
@GaryFerraro2 ай бұрын
@@raymondjohn3396 Well You may have to drill it out and install a heli coil, you may have to buy the kit, you will have to get the thread size it may be 6x1
@raymondjohn33962 ай бұрын
@@GaryFerraro i already bought the heli coil kit, but the tranny pan bolt is 8mm socket small. So if the DTC code says p0741 then its the part right torque converter. I didn't have any other issues like reverse, drive, neutral, when driving. I am the second owner of the f150 because someone else had this truck before we purchased it in 2016. I talked to the ford motor, they told me to replace the seals while you're replacing the code p0741.

@@raymondjohn3396 These converters do have issues, Valvebodies do to. Converters are more common to fail. Actually there is a test that can be done but you need a pressure gauge. Converters do fail often

Hi Gary, are these Ford boxes license built by Ford? Would a ZF 6HP26 drum fit in this box instead? I am just wondering if the ZF boxes suffer this type of cracking as a common issue? If not, could you fix the issue by putting in a ZF part?
@GaryFerraro3 жыл бұрын
