thanks for the info n the 6t40. On a 6f35 what would be the issue causing no 1-2-3-4 clutch engaugement. No burnt clutches and the valvebody spacer plate is new.

The same problem just happened to my equinox at 86k miles. No power on all ranges. The same problem at around the same miles, and you have to pay per VIN for reprogramming. Sounds like planned obsolescence to me.

hi! GM 6t45 forward only when cold, no reverse. I drained 5 liters of oil and put back in the same quantity. Problem is it's spitting out half of it through the "level check" bolt. I've done it correctly, unscrewing the bolt when engine is hot, while running. Can it be because of worn oil pump? I can't find related videos of this problem..

Hello, i have changed my solenoids (the ones with black cap) with the ones with coloured caps i think they are gen2, and the transmission is working now but harsh/kick shifts are present and error codes (without mil): P0961, p0965, P2719, codes were not present before but car had no gears .. what do you think ?

I have a 6T40 that when in drive will go into first gear, when it hits 3mph it will jump out of gear, if it goes downhill and gets up to 9mph it will go into 2nd and keep going. However, when in M will work all day long. In fact. I can start off in M, and just bump it over to D at 9mph. I have changed the TECHM, and valve body and same result. Where do I start now?

Hi a question can you program a TCM outside of a 6T40 transmission but hooked up to the wire harnes from the original TCM in the transmission ? Like unplug the original TCM from the transmission and plug in the new TCM to program? Hope that makes sense lol.

Hi Gary I have a 2011 Buick Lacrosse CXL with a p2723, RPO MH7 and it all started after backing out of parking space, stopping reverse motion and shifting to drive; the car didn't move forward. I then sat idly shifting from park to neutral to drive and the manual mode. I can get up to M2 standing still as always! After a while I got it to engage and began driving. It gave me 5th gear only from standstill to my desired speed; reverse was fine. It got worse though. It's a sealed unit. I found the filler cap bone dry. I added dexron 6 to it seeing if that would help (nope).

Hi Gary Your videos are amazing and you are honestly doing an amazing job thank u so much i have a ques with regard my ford territory which has zf 6HP26 transmission and it drives fine and everything but when the rpm are raised during slope or speeding it either gets stuck into 3rd or 5th gear and doesnt wana shift down even after putting in manual mode. but when the car is switched off and on again its fine. i havnt got the transmission serviced e.g the transmission oil and filter as i just bought the car and im in western australia if u r nearby i can drop off the car as i tried looking up for u

You can clearly see O-rings on the end of those shift solenoids where they are popped into the TCM

Hey Gary, I have. 2000 Taho have rebuilt 4L 60 e complete, done and no speedo and no shift, checked and replaced the VSS, checked all wiring and replaced computer, still no speedo?? Also have installed 3 shift kits in 4L60E and all had to come back out because of no shift, follow the instructions to the letter can U help

I'm currently working on a the wife's 2012 diesel captiva. For a couple of weeks it seemed to have a hard down shift between 3rd and 2nd gear but upshift was fine. A few days ago it lost drive. It does get reverse, 1st and 2nd for a few mins once it cools down but then loses all movement again. Does this sound like a TEHCM or 3-5-R clutch assembly?

I recently rebuilt a 6T40. 3-5-r Wave plate broke. Had to replace drum, and several other components with the gears. I reused solenoids and techom. All back together and in the car. Now when I try to drive car forward or reverse it's lags bad. I have to get to about 1500rpm before it moves. I drove it enough and now has p2715 code. What do you suggest I look into? Have you ran across this issue?

Hi I have a 2011 equinox only gets to third gear when in D then just revs. If i shift to manual I keep it in 3rd but it won’t let me shift up or down with the toggle on the side of the shifter. Also no reverse and a p0796 code? What do you think it could be?

The 3-5/reverse wave steel broke up and took the drum out, very common problem, the wave steel has been updated so it doesn't break anymore. At this point sorry to say it will need to be overhauled. Are you in the New York area?

Sorry to be off topic from your video, but my dad has a dilemma. He has a 1997 Ford e450 class C RV v10 50k miles and when the transmission is cold it takes off fine. When warm you have to Pat (pump) the gas and it will engage and take off in drive (reverse is fine). After taking off it shifts through all gears perfectly until you stop again. Fluid was just changed and no effect. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Gary Ferraro yes it revs, the fluid is full as we can tell. If you Pat the gas gently after say three to five Pat's it will slowly engage and take off from a stop. When cold it will instantly engage and take off like normal. The motor is a 6.8 v10. 1997 E450 only 50k miles.

Gary Ferraro hi Mr Ferraro, Update: I took the RV to a transmission shop and it was scanned for codes. None were found. He moved the selector between each gear and he thinks it is a hydraulic problem. Possibly a seal is letting off pressure. That's why he thinks it drives fine when engine is cold. My question is, can I put something in the fluid to expand the seals until I can afford a rebuild? He thinks they might be dry rotted.

Hey Gary, 6T30, no codes, falls out of drive when stopped at a stop sign. Once I hit the accelerator pedal a little, it will kick back into gear. Sounds like the 1-2-3-4 clutch. What do you think?

Just happened to me 2011 Chevy Cruz 1.4 . Stopped at light start to pull away and no forward gears. Dealer bulletin says computer and valve body replacement. But not 100% fix they say. Just the first step. And reverse is good.
