6th Gen Camaro Front Seat Removal

In this video I cover how to remove the front driver seat on my 2016 Camaro SS. The process is the same for the passenger seat.

All you need is a T50 star bit. To remove: 1. Fold the seat and slide it all the way forward 2. Using a T50 star bit, unscrew the two bolts behind the seat 3. Slide the seat all the way back, but keep if folded 4. Pick up the back of the seat, pull it towards the back, once it is out, tilt it and rest it on the center console 5. Disconnect the negative battery terminal 6. Disconnect the harness under the seat 7. Using a T50 star bit, unscrew the seatbelt anchor from the seat 8. Remove the plastic cover over the airbag terminal, unplug the airbag terminal and slide the seatbelt anchor out of the seat 9. Remove the seat from the vehicle To put it back: 1. Place the seat back into the vehicle, tilt it and rest it on the center console 2. Reconnect the harness under the seat 3. Replace the seatbelt anchor, reconnect the airbag terminal and replace the airbag terminal cover 4. Place the seat back in it's place 5. Reconnect the negative battery terminal 6. Fold the seat and slide it all the way forward 7. Align bolt holes with mating holes and replace bolts

Instead of taking out the whole actuator thing, you can pop open where you buckle in your seatbelt to, and take out the 1 screw, and your seatbelt just disconnects from the side of the seat. There's a video on how to do it from Luis Upholstery. Didn't have to mess with the battery or anything.

Awesome video! Also you can leave the seatbelt anchor connected if you are just cleaning under the seat. Just need to drag the seat out of the car with some seatbelt slack

Yesterday i changed the seats of my Camaro. I did not unscrew that screw at the seat side for freeing the belt. I remove the plastic cover there where the belt is directly lead through. And unscrew that screw. So i have not to unconnenct the sensor and put out the whole thing through that hole. Sure, you have to be careful to uncover the plastic cover.

Is it possible to add a spacer to the front of the rail so that the seat would be reclined a little more. My 2023 seat back is almost straight up in the fully reclined position.

Hello. I have a 2019 camaro . Having an issue with the cooling seats now 29,000miles. They aren't producing cooling. Its more like light air. Have you heard of this issue? What are your thoughts? I took it to the dealer and they said they can feel the fan blowing but I have owned the car since brand new in the performance is not the same. When I first got it it felt like cool in jail was coming through the seats and now it feels like light air barely blowing

I have a 2019 2SS, and I thought my cool seat wasn’t working. I’m a tall guy, and the dealer told me that because I run the seat bottomed-out that it blocks the flow. Sure enough, when I raised the seat, the flow improved. I just can’t raise it very much without hitting my head on the roof…

Hey bro, so I took out my seats to wash them, the problem is that didn’t disconnect the battery now that I put everything back to its places, including plugs.. the airbag light is still on, is there any way to fix it?

Disconnect your battery and let the car sit for a couple hours. This should reset the light

You'll get an airbag light if you leave the seat disconnected

No, I left it plugged in and didn’t have any problems. I’m sure it couldn’t hurt to unplug it though

for safety, you should definitely unplug the battery if you're going to mess with any pyrotechnics. the wires getting unclipped from the seatbelt are for the pretensioner, which includes pyrotechnics
