I continue to be amazed by the quality of your Math courses. Our 3rd-grader loves them so much that he is already sailing through Math 5 almost completely by himself and will be starting Math 6 within a few months. Since he was doing so well, I was curious if the rigor was where it should be so I downloaded the official end-of-year Math Assessment tests of four random states that I found online for 4th grade math (for a variety of years between 2014 and 2023) - Massachusetts, Florida, South Carolina and Nebraska. He was able to complete them all with ease after finishing Good and the Beautiful Math 4. Thank you for providing a fun and extremely rigorous curriculum that has caused our 8-year-old to be absolutely hooked on Math! The combination of a short video lesson, mini-lesson, lesson practice, review and mental math is an absolute winner. The only resource we have used in addition to your courses is a $5 set of Math multiplication cards for use after each lesson during Math 3.

I've compared TGTB Math 6 content to that in the Saxon 8/7 and Algebra 1/2, and I have to say TGTB Math 6 does a thorough job of preparing kids for pre-Algebra concepts. I used Saxon math decades ago for middle and high school, and now my grown children are homeschooling their own. I have become their preferred go-to for curriculum choices since I've been there and still keep up on the old and the new choices by watching many reviews and attending curriculum fairs. My grand-kids love TGTB Math.

I love your flip through videos! They help see what the next few years will look like for our kids. Our daughter struggles with math, however, thrives with TGTB math and will be starting Level 6 in a couple months towards the end of her 4th grade year.

Hi Kerry! At this time our scope and sequence for the older grades is not available, but here is some information that may help. In 7th grade/Level 7, pre-algebra skills will be included and a focus. We will actually begin to teach pre-algebra skills many levels earlier than that, with a gentle approach, so that the child is well prepared for upper level work.

My daughter just finished 6th grade and I have searched so many different math for her. My younger kids are really enjoying Math K and 1. Will math 7 be available this year? Or not until next year? I know you guys are working hard and I would be so pleasantly surprised if you had it ready by this coming school year. It would help my eldest daughter out a lot. Should I wait and keep some hope?

I notice that you cover some algebra and geometry. Does your spiral method introduce some high school math at this level? Are proofs introduced?

Hi Nova! We do begin to teach some upper-level skills in early levels, with a gentle approach, so that the child is well prepared for upper-level work including high school. Proofs are not introduced in Math 6. We hope you love the course!

Our math is extremely thorough and academically strong, but it is not considered advanced, meaning Math K is kindergarten level, Math 1 is first grade level, etc. Please visit our Simply Good and Beautiful Math product page and click on the blue box labeled "Math Placement Test." For most children, we suggest that they start on their grade level, unless they are behind in math or advanced. Thank you for your interest, Becca! Each course book is 256 pages and include a total of 120 lessons. The full color course books are mostly completed independently, with videos and mini lessons, so instructions and coursework is a bit longer than what you will find in our lower levels. I was wondering, since my son will be doing 7th grade this year with plans to have him do Algebra 1 in 9th, will this be sufficient for our 7th grade work to keep him on track for 9th grade? We may or may not send him to public school for high school and I don't want him to struggle with his 9th grade math.

Hi Eva! Math 7 is not yet released and will not be available before the new school year. Math 6 is available but is comparable to sixth grade math rather than seventh grade. We are working hard on the upper levels for release in coming years.
