@rsnfll so basically locking your knees is just standing up straight enough to where your knees are the farthest back they can go and you’re using them for support to help you stand up. some people do it to relieve pressure on the muscles after standing for a long amount of time (because locking your knees means you’re relying on your bones rather than your muscles to help you stand.) tons of people lock their knees daily. but because the legs act as a major blood pump in the body and this function relies on the movement of your leg muscles, if you lock your knees the blood will pool in the legs and lead to a low oxygen state in the brain. not enough blood is reaching it and your blood contains oxygen needed for the brain to function. so if you stand like this for long enough, especially during a performance - that’s what makes you pass out

@@gymnasticsforever110Most teachers tell you to not lock your knees, because when you lock your knees for a few minutes (3-7 minutes) it cuts off your blood circulation, causing you to faint. When I was in choir a year ago, a girl locked her knees and she fainted from the top riser, causing her to not only pass out, but to have a concussion.

for people who don't understand, locking your knees for a long time Causes blood to basically pool in that specific location. So my weird choir stories: I was like 6 or 7, and the group one level above mine were on stage. From what I’ve heard, one of them fainted and another threw up. Same concert, within like 15 seconds of each other. Separate story: So in February 2023, I was supposed to attend the World Choir Games in Hull, England. Now I live in England, right? Only an hour on the coach. But I felt ill on the morning and my phone barely lasted 10 minutes at that time. I ended up breaking out into panic (attack) and I didn’t go. As soon as I got home I threw up. Also got a new phone that day so yay.

This was one of the scariest moments of my life. We had a veterans program and all was good we were singing our songs and all was going great. Until a kid on the top row fainted. He fell FORWARDS down all the risers and hit his face on the bottom row. He fell on my shoulder and slipped off slamming his chin on the risers. He split his chin open and went to the hospital. That wasn’t even to long ago. Edit: he also said he was dehydrated before the concert and knew it was coming. He also had his knees locked the whole program. Now whenever we go to watch other grade’s programs our music teacher is showing the kids to bend their knees every now and then.

Last Winter during rehearsals for our Christmas concert, the same thing happened to a younger boy in our choir. He locked his knees and fell onto the little girl in the row in front of him. One of the directors saw him falling and got to him before they hit the floor. She helped him sit down, and they got him some water. We all just kept singing, just like we were supposed to. The worst part was that it was on the parents day! Close to 30 moms and dads were there watching the whole thing! He was perfectly okay afterwards, and nobody fainted during that actual concert. But a crazy experience nonetheless!😂

What exactly happened was -it was a school performance as our chairman came to visit our school.they wanted us to sing even more loudly as the kids were performing.our teacher told us to sing even more loudly ,at this point everyone was screaming...and as i didn't eat anything in the morning and with people screaming near my ears I felt dizzy and a girl beside was like "OMG are you feeling dizzy??? Go to the teacher and she literally pushed me from the choir stage...I fell on the floor ....😂😂😂😂.....i don't remember who pushed me ...oh!
