6th Sense Trace TRASH Bait? Or Does It PASS??

I def took more time with the Trace to really get a handle on this swimbait and see if it's all hype or does it really belong with some of the elite swimbaits?

Ok, after watching your vid, I get it. I also got one via a hanging Christmas tree ornament at my local lake this week. A set of replacement tails are on the way and I have some 2/0 Gamakatsu trebles and SPRO power split rings to install. I normally don't throw anything this big because as a bank angler, I can lose a lot of tackle to snags. You hit the nail on the head when describing most of us conservative bankies. Over the last couple of months, our local lake has gone under a MAJOR drawdown and I SCORED on lost lures and tackle, even got 2 Z-man chatterbaits back. And over 22 lipless crankbaits recovered and rebuilt for future fall time use. New sub!! Thanks for the effort in making quality videos.

Lake Guntersville bass love this thing. Caught a 6 and several 4s last weekend during a 3 day tournament. Slow roll and mix in a rod twitch to turn it back and they would crush it. Shad Burst and 4K Shad were the most productive colors

Great bait that gets bit and I agree with everything you said about the line, rod, and definately the hooks need to go down a size. This bait is great in Florida the floating one burning over hydrilla. Use a loop knot or snap great review

For sure dude! That day, and most times with a SLOW sinking bait like that, I'm gonna be in 10ft and less targeting the grass. Burn it over them, kill it in the open spots. With such a slow sink, I just dont like anything deeper

I throw my Trace on 6th Sense ESP 7’7” Heavy Fast rod and that rod is good to go with that bait per me and Justin Royal. Glad you passed the the Trace. HOOK’EM Hoodman

Bought four of them 1 floating, 2 slow sink, and 1 fast sink.. had them for well over a year. Have fished them alot. Even when schooling bass. Have not caught 1 fish with them..

How did you fish it? I haven't fished this particular bait.. but with multi joints it seems the best is burn burn burn burn pause... burn burn pause, etc. The mike bucca retrieve. I've done it even with single joint baits that have a good cranking glide.

It definitely casts well! A lot of those, I had the wind at my back, but I did make plenty of cross wind casts and it did well!

So regarding your missed fish - was the mistake going for a hard hook set and jerking the rod? Would it have been better to just lean into the rod and let the action set the hook?

I meant to slow that down so everyone could see better so that’s my fault. But the problem was a combination of two things: setting too hard with that faster action and the fish just flat out surprising me 😅 That was my first time out with that model of Ghost Code. My other is a heavier power but a moderate fast. So I was still getting adjusted to it

What about the San Diego jam ? Anytime I’m throwing flouracarbon, this knot holds. Anything else snaps instantly on a hook set. I assumed I was burning the line when tying but I was slobbering all over it so not sure.

How about a loop knot for more action? My concern about downsizing the front hook would be a weight difference. Lighter would be a slower sink. A weight strip maybe to compensate? Still, I agree about a smaller front hook to keep from snagging on itself so much. You bring up good points about rod and line size. I have a single joint and it seems to have no action at all. Haha left hand reel means so wasted time switching hands! Exactly and it lets you react about second faster as well. Love the vids and the passion about fishing. I have 2 Traces and the thing is I am trying to get the cadence right with reel retrieve. I know I practice with that bait as much as possible

I know it’s kinda hard to take my word on this, when you can’t see the screen lol. But the fish I have caught on it, were not due to FFS. The grass I was fishing was way too thick to track and track my bait, or a fish on it. So I was really just fishing it, the way you saw. I will say, the odds of catching go up on a boat. Simply because you can cover more water, but I know they’ll catch with or without FFS.
