This one feels less like a superyacht, and more like a home on the water to me. The only “failings” in my mind, are the raked windshields and the lack of range. Pity really as it’s otherwise fabulous. As always a fantastic Aquaholic tour!

It's interesting, the layout almost gives one the impression it's an owner operated boat, and that forward VIP could easily be the Owner/Captain's cabin during charters, with the guests all in the center cabins. Even the crew spaces appear to be more of a family business type setting, with such nice cabins, but no crew rest areas. It seems that the crew would spend much of their downtime in that forward kitchen/breakfast nook area or in the wheelhouse area... both forward. Anyway, cheers Nick, thanks for the tour.
@garethchild4 жыл бұрын
That is absolutely genius! The owners get to live on a boat - and have guests to pay for it all and crew to do the cleaning!

I did wonder why the guest cabin forward was seperate and the master so close to the other guest cabins. Wonder if it is spec'ed to that layout or its just the way it is.

Good observations. The boat definitely feels like an owner operated affair, even down to the semi-displacement hull which sacrifices speed for comfort
@clifbradley3 жыл бұрын
Remember....according to Denison Yachts, a boat under 105' only needs a Captain and 2 crew. "These boats usually never have more than 4 crew in total."...is what I was told. When I brought up that you would need the Captain, chef, stewardess, deckhand and engineer, Ryan Alexander told me that you only need a captain and a stewardess and 1 deckhand and maybe a stewardess/deckhand. The stewardess acted as chef, the captain is usually an engineer or the deckhand is. Then told me I had much to learn about yachts, most 100 ft boats only need 3 crew. My thoughts on the layout is the 2 stews are in the side by side room, the twin bed is the deckhands, the single is the chef and the cabin separate from the others is the captain's quarters and his wife is probably chief stew, but they probably only have 2 stews on board. The boat just charters for 6 guests.

So I liked the wheel house, Galley with the entertainment nook and the fly bridge. The cabins are also very generously appointed. All in all a very nice boat. But the lack of side decks makes me nervous about things like close quarter maneuvering, fender management - all the things that tend to ruin one's day in crowded marinas. Sometimes the deck above is adapted to these tasks - but with this yacht I didn't see that. Also I would have liked to have seen the forward deck.
@aethertech3 жыл бұрын
Fender management probably has to be done from the flybridge level, it's the only place I saw with open air access. Or it's pre-fendered somehow before going into dock with the tender.

Fantastic tour Nick (as usual) of a wonderful boat. Probably the first time I've seen the kitchen up front in any of your prior presentations. Great layout and I do like your comment at 3:20 "... so you can grab yourself a drink on your way down to bed". Excellent remark, because if you have a boat like this you probably need a stiff drink in order to get some sleep by the time the invoice for fueling it up arrives!

Lovely boat - I adore that galley! That’s perfect for a family that likes to cook and wouldn’t want a chef (which I have!) Interesting that it has no crew mess; I suppose they would have to use the wheelhouse, or maybe convert the larger crew cabin into a mess and run with three crew. Oh - hang on, I just remembered that I didn’t win Euromillions... cancel the order. Great tour, as usual, Nick. I hope you’re all staying safe.

This is just what we need at this time, as so many of us are stuck at home with not a lot to do, but to watch KZbin videos to keep us entertained and that is exactly what you are doing. In saying that, and I hope you don't mind this self-plug Nick, but I have been trying to put out a lot more content on my channel to hopefully relieve some of the boredom for other folks. Love it when you cover unusual/innovative layouts like this. I’m hoping for more boats with longer range - I don’t understand a 100 foot boat that can’t cross the Atlantic, when you can cross the pacific in a 40 foot sailboat.
@AQUAHOLIC4 жыл бұрын
You can, but you need a boat designed to travel at the speed of that sailboat. Check out Nordhavn for example. As soon as you want more speed however, you're needing to overcome physics (research displacement hull speeds) and that takes a lot of fuel which adds weight and storage issues. So basically you need to choose what is important to you, speed or transatlantic range, and prepare to compromise the former greatly to get the latter (exactly as sailboats do).
@RogerWilco14 жыл бұрын
AQUAHOLIC I understand that, and I’ve looked at Nordhavens. I bet there’s several other makes like them- but finding them hard to find. Delta and Ocean Alexander used to make long range yachts under 80 feet, but not so much now. I’m just saying I hope you walkthrough more explorer yachts in the future. You cover a lot of yachts from builders I’ve never heard of, and that’s great. Right now my top candidate is a Sunreef 80. If you haven’t been on a modern Sunreef I think you will be astounded.

An absolute beauty, checks off all the boxes for most anyone. Captain may like better but it is rather new and there's that. I think they will have no issues selling this though I am not sure for 7 million, that seems high for a used 100 ft even with this class and design. People may not realise the cost for any future refits, rebuilds, maintenance intervals and they are two years closer to those dates and one should consider that in the sale price imo. Denison always seem to get the best offerings on the market.
