great video, love your improvements... i made me own carrying case using large diameter white pvc plumbing pipe, lined with styrofoam inserts in places, for tight fit... pipe cut lengthwise, ends sealed with small thin plywood round pieces.... seat belt material glued to one side of cut to act as hinge... then 3 small bungie cords with balls on end to keep closed when not in use...

I recently bought my first EWI, the EWI Solo. It has a built-in speaker and so it is quite a bit longer than the 5000. It's about 77.5 cm long and about 8 cm in diameter at the thickest point (the speaker). I checked soprano sax bags, but they are a bit too short. I looked at billiard/pool cue bags, some of them would probably fit. I looked at camera tripod bags, and in the end I bought this one: Cullmann CROSS PodBag 400 Tripod Bag (81x13x13 cm). The length is just perfect, there are 2-3 cm to spare, so a suitable bit of extra padding can be placed in the bottom. The bag is a bit big in diameter. When it's empty (or with an EWI inside), the bag's shape is quite flat (not like a tube), so the EWI doesn't really flop around when it's inside. The extra room inside means that you can stuff extra padding inside (e.g. piece of a camping mat, foam pipe insulation), or the EWI can be wrapped in a blanket. There is one extra pocket on the inside that can fit the neck strap and/or a slim charger&cable.

Hi thanks for the video . Where did you find that case? Would you like to share the link? Talking in general I think it's a shame they dont come with a gigbag to carry your ewi properly. At least for its price, they should. Or did they think that you would be carrying out the Ewi to a gig or a trip on that carton red box from the factory? lol, I have seen cheap instruments such as trumpets, saxes, guitars, or small synth controllers that would have even come with a soft case bag.

You shall buy the Akai bag for 150 bucks, therefore they don't add it to the Ewi.

I use a tennis players wristband to keep the plastic top peice attached to the body it slips on and stops it falling off.

Fun stand adapter, I would be curious about maybe rotating the base so that one of the feet sits under the EWI's back-leaning weight. That may prevent tipping better.
@peterommes43603 жыл бұрын
Actually I am using the adapters everyday now and I do not have any issues with tipping over. I also printed a second one plus an extra adapter so have both EWIs sitting on one base stand, leaning in the same direction. Still no problem. But please feel free to improve on the design :)

@@peterommes4360 That's awesome! I have no skills in that area, just speaking from experience with tipping 3-footed microphone stands. Very cool adapters.

It m8ght be a good idea if you could scroll and load the instruments like we do with Lexicon FX instead of hunting through each one sequentially. 👍😎🇨🇦

The 3d Prints are linked it the comemnts. The bag was ordered from www.bassbags.co.uk/product/akai-ewi-case/. The Electronics are from Apple. The neckstrap was laying around. But every decend music shop should be abele to provide a better neck strap that the included one. Cheers.

Note: The stand is not useful if you work with a cable on stage.

It's just so intuitive! To change instrument, you just press the unlabelled button on the front while touching an unlabelled, random screw on the back. Simple.

It won't play to bluetooth headphones?
@peterommes43604 жыл бұрын
No, it only uses a proprietary wireless protocol that works with the supplied receiver. I guess that Bluetooth does not guarantee the necessary responsiveness?
