Another great EWI video! EWIes are not getting enough attention in my opinion, thank you for making helpful videos.

I use to play the sax, and still have a Tenor but it doesn't sound too hot. But I'm getting older and thought I would buy the Akai Solo (easier), which I have. You might want to do a video on the solo as it seems to be catching on quickly. I like the basic instruction you gave in this video, keep it up, and try the Solo.

Thanks for the 3 videos..Very helpful.. especially showing the Cmaj scale. visual is much easier to follow for me.. Perhaps a video on different scales in the future?

I love this beginner EWI playlist. I used to play sax a lot when I was younger and am ordering an EWI to practice in my condo. Would love to hear what programs you use for recording and additional tones.

I need some lessons in playing this as an instrument.. like how can I make use of all the octaves in a seamless way.. I want to be able to use it to play flute sheet music, but I can't understand how to do it with the EWI 5000.. do you know of any sites that have full lessons for the EWI?
@HelineFay2 жыл бұрын
I don't know any places unfortunately. I'd say start playing simple stuff that only requires you to change one octave at a time. It gets a bit easier with just playing some easier songs to get the feel of the octave changes. If I don't play EWI for a while it gets harder for me, although playing and learning saxophone has helped a bit with that "slide your thumb up for higher octave" feel.
@light4872 жыл бұрын
@@HelineFay so you'd say that the EWI lends itself more to saxophone music rather than flute or clarinet? I want to be able to play songs that I enjoy play by on the clarinet, but it seems I have to use the octave changes to get the full range of the basic clarinet fingerings. Also I wanted to extend my recorder and whistle playing. I have a recorder that I love playing, but many songs I want to play require 1 or 2 intervals lower than the recorder can handle, so I was hopeful that the EWI would do that.. and I guess it does.. but it requires nimble use of the octave rollers. I am practising going through the scales and when I get to the bottom of the scale, rolling my thumb down and continuing the scale all the way to the bottom and then returning all the way to the top.. but scales are boring after a while and I was hoping there would be some instructional videos for how to efficiently and effectively learn it.

play it first for few seconds, so that it's unmistakably clear what the video is about! Happy new year :3

Does the sound always start in the lower octave? Hard to control the octave roller, any hint? A tutorial? Thanks

I have a friend who only has the use of one hand. If the EWI were mounted on a stand, is there a way it could be played one-handed?
@HelineFay4 жыл бұрын
I read the manual a bit and it seems like you'd need both hands really for all the finger charts. You also need to have both thumbs attached to the instrument for it to work properly. Here's the link to the user guide in English: www.akaipro.de/sites/default/files/2018-01/EWI5000-UserGuide-v1.0.pdf

possibly using the 'trumpet' mode that uses only 3 keys

Maybe he would be better off with a Roli Seaboard 25 or Block, that way he can do pitch bends and vibrato one handed.

The Roland Aerophone Go AE-05 has fingerings for just the left and just the right.

@@ccrews0612 I have the model that needs a PC to play the samples and the trumpet setting needs two hands. I played trumpet in high school and still remember the fingerings. I was disappointed that I still need to learn fingerings. Maybe the other model is different,.

It's actually pronounced tonguing (tung-ing) not tung-ring. A tongue ring is a piece of metal some people put through the end of their tongues. This could be confusing, as it suggests you may be wearing one, and we may need to get one. :)
@riccardomutschlechner9608 Жыл бұрын
She's clearly pronouncing it "tongue + ooh + ing" which is common for certain folks who did not learn English first. How many other languages do you speak, and are you fluent in them?
