The only thing I am missing in Reaper is "bins". I love organizing my material in bins when I edit video. And a big documentary project really needs this, both in video and audio. Also, I would like to set up a template for certain types of editing where the interface, plugins and a collection of audio files are all part of the package. Maybe it is already there and I just don't know it 🙂

Not sure if this is what you want but you can create folders in the Project Bay for in-session material, and the Media Explorer can help with organiting external stuff. As for project templates, they can contain anything. You can have tracks with plugins and even media items on them as part of them. For the interface changes, screen sets can be helpful to switch to a completely custom layout with one keypress. Another approach: since portable installations contain their separate configurations, you could set one up for specific tasks/project types and make your custom template the default, plus have it use your customized layout for your purposes out of the box.
