Hey Jon! Have you found that when using a physical control (encoder or fader from a midi controller), and "learning" a specific parameter, that "Touch" doesn't work as it's supposed to? When using the mouse, you can "punch-in" automation, and when you let go, it reads what was there before. Not so with a physical control. When I let go, it writes a flat line. No matter what controller I use... relative, absolute, Novation, Behringer, NI, Arturia, doesn't matter. It's very frustrating. Is there some option I'm missing? I don't want to rely on the mouse. Thanks!

touch mode with hardware requires capacitive touch controllers. Usually that's the ones with the silver paint. For example knobs on Novation Nocturn, or faders on X-Touch Universal. Other controllers will behave like Latch mode.

@@TheREAPERBlog Best thing to do then-- I do have a Nocturn, and Maschine MK3... that should do the trick. Otherwise, I should hit stop on the transport before I screw something up, or just move the nodes with the mouse after the fact. I wish this was more common knowledge with any/all of the videos. I can't remember if yours mentioned this or not, but Kenny's didn't. Thx again, Jon! Emailed ya btw!

@@TheREAPERBlog Tried out the Nocturn. No luck. When I touch the caps (the stock caps) it doesn't select that encoder. Turning's fine, but no luck with touching. Maybe more luck with Maschine MK3... but, it'd be dope to use this little guy

How can you get media item color to inherit from track color? Or change its default color? It is still grey. The options under "Appearance...."Peaks\Waveforms" to do this is greyed out.

I killed an hour trying to figure this out. Finding it pretty tricky even with scripting and AI assistance. It seems possible but not as easily as I first thought.

@TheREAPERBlog Thank you for the reply, but as I am not usually into the whole synthetic "808" type of sound, prolly won't install it. I hadn't heard you play the sounds yet when I pushed the panic button. I will say that I have installed the reapack and a couple of others, including the one that lets me open cakewalk projects. Still hopelessly lost, and the cakewalk conversion thing is not going too well on top. If we all live long enough, I will either get this or at least get a tough enough computer to run a more serious project in cakewalk. As it stands, I max out cpu with all of 28 tracks frozen. Course I should mention that I have a heavy mastering track going simultaneously, and am doing the maximiser sandwich after that so...

I miss this same idea but for a light theme. People with sight problems often ask for a well contrasted theme (maybe even pure black and pure white?). Do you know any theme with these characteristics?

Is there an equivalent script for Reaper 7? I want to change a few things to the Default 7 theme move the Mute and Solo buttons to the TCP meter area so they're away from the rest of the TCP buttons.

Thanks for the info. I checked these instruments out, and they sound good, but my computer can't use them without timing errors on playback. I think my computer lacks the needed processing power to use them in real time. But I can certainly sample these synths to ease the load on my computer, or I could simply freeze the tracks for playback. Once again, thanks. It's always nice to get free instruments. 😊

This timeline has its flaws, to be sure, but one perk is a glut of incredible free synth plugins. Teenage mid-nineties me can hardly believe he can basically have any sound he wants for free.

-3 is a standart of most daw, but in reaper you must treat for example mono track as like a dual mono so -3 is not corect.I run as default at 0 linear tapper
