I wish i had a crew of good dudes to come over and whip some shit out like that. Its nice to see. Im restoring my 96 psd. Complete. With lots of power upgrades. May as well rip out/ upgrade old exhaust. Im glad my baby leaked juice as much as she did over the yrs. The oil preserves! My starting on driver side manifold removal has just begun. I estimate 30 hrs to get that thing off and old studs out. Im a 50 yr old stone mason. This is not my "thing". Thank u for the visual aid. Mucho respect✌️

Gotta say that bolt extractor is money! I used a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF to soak my bolts for an hour and i only had to cut one. Went really quick vs having to cut every single one. Old trick i learned for exhaust too is to first tighten for a couple impacts then loosen. I belive this works cause it breaks rust but doesn't jam it in the direction of loosening and you have a little momentum. These manifolds had 266,000 on them mix of New Hampshire and Colorado so not rust free.

Yea, cutting doesn’t take long, it’s my go to for doing these. I believe the truck in that video was 400+ on the mileage. Usually only see them leaking with over 300k due to so many heat cycles.

The whistling that you’re so wanting to hear is coming from the turbin wheel, not the compressor side requiring a large straight pipe exhaust system

Started doing up pipes on my 7.3. Bolts that go to the manifold flange would not come out, I feared I was gonna have to pull manifolds but after I watched this video it was cake. Thank you! Although I bought a stud puller from orileys and it broke the teeth off inside 3 different times after swapping it out, finally I went to advance auto and got a diehard version of it and it got the rest of them out like butter! If I ever do another 7.3 I’ll definitely be doing it this way! Thank you!

Bro, loved the bolt extraction, that was skilled! Had me on the edge of my seat 😂 I'm having this done here soon on my 2002 F250. New stainless tube headers, new bellowed up pipes, new non ebpv pedestal, KCX300 turbo, new Sinister intake tubing, new diamond eye 4in downpipe. Nothing special really, still fully stock, just some new part love for my 295k mi 7.3. My baby, lol, showed her more love than any girl I've ever dated 😂 LOVED the videos guys! Quick question for you though? In terms of labor cost, how many billable hours did it take to do the whole exhaust replace? Trying to see if how long that took you, was close to my assumption. I'm sure this shop I'm using won't be too thrilled about the header replacement on my truck, but it's gotta get done! These new headers are sick! Makes me wish I had bigger performance parts on my truck! I'm not trying to have a race vehicle though. God bless you guys! Thank again 😀

@AutomedicGarage

I prefer cutting with the cutoff wheel because you aren’t worried about slag and heat messing up the wires or plastic. I guess you missed the part where I showed and install new manifolds. Only way to reuse the old ones is to have them run on a planer to make them flat and seal with the gaskets.

Hard to tell if that’s a squeak or a squeal. Does it change with rpm’s? If it is exhaust it’s coming from the up pipes. Check your up pipe to turbo connection and your bellows for leaks.
