Pelosi orchestrated this due to the fact that Biden wasn’t bringing in the dollars and it was threatening down ballot races. Rather than risk loosing the House and Senate & having Trump back in power it was essential to retain Congress to counter 45. Harris wasn’t her choice but Biden insisted if he was going to go. TODAY was a very interesting day. I was gardening by the street, and EVERYONE walking by would say hi, stop and chat, they were all upbeat and friendly-- sooo unusual! I commented on it to my friend, who is worried about the neighborhood energy (they are non-binary in a rather red area) and they were still worried. They went for a walk and when they returned-- they had experienced the SAME energy shift!! Even from people who had been rude before. The energy everywhere is lifting, it's lighter, it's relaxing and hopeful. We had a great convo about it, and even tho they want even younger choices, they will hold their nose and vote for Harris, because there IS no other choice. At the end of the conversation, they did feel better and more hopeful. They know their vote will count. I'm happy. It's all about tiny steps.

I think it is a helpful thing because if you follow social media there have been some black hip hop artists and entertainers that are NOT seasoned followers of politics who have been toying with wanting to go against the Dem party because "Dems haven't done enough for Black people". I think that President Biden had a talk with Kamala Harris early in their administration where he addressed the possibility that if he couldn't fulfill his term, what the plan would be. I think the seamless transition from Biden running for President to Kamala was way too organized. Spirit provided the momentum, but I think the structure was already in place.
