Yeah these have been popular for years. I myself have built a few. Waiting for the 2022 model to appear in UK Lidl shops; they’re a bit late this year. There’re a couple of very useful Facebook groups and many KZbin videos with lots of info!

Never seen them in there! If it's every summer at least I haven't missed it yet 👍

@@thomask6952 yeah, usually arrives in UK stores mid to end of May; for the last three or four years. Severely delayed this year. Already in shops in Europe. The 2021 model has been my favourite to date as it’s got a nice wide fuselage that can be hollowed out to make lots of room for more electronics, larger battery etc. However, it looks like this year, they’ve gone back to the slimmer model from a few years back.

@@ayoaina_fpv They went to stores on Sunday in the UK - got a couple for my son and I. My first actual build, now to find a docile easy build spec.

Hi, have I missed the Lidl 2022 version?

We have had a facebook group for these for several years now the "Lidl Glider Group". The adaptations are endless, we have had cross tails, A tails, V tails, high wing, low wing, biplane, triplane, EDFs, A10 twin EDFs, planks, swept wings, canards, extended wings, twin fuse (P82 style), twin tail (P38 style) - when you've got £8 worth of foam and a stanley knife, you are only limited by your imagination.

I had heard about them but never seen them so was great to see these guys demonstrate them. Just awesome for anyone wanting to get into the hobby on a budget. I'll put reference to the group in the video description. Thanks !

Awesome idea guy’s, so good in fact I have just bought 2 of them, slightly larger wing span though. Thanks for the info, can’t wait to start modifying. ✈️

These chuckies are the best thing since sliced bread! Cheap and versatile 840mm foamies for all sorts of conversions. After being available in Europe for ages they are now stocked in Oz by Kmart who also stock the 480mm versions. 10 Oz Bananas for the big ones. Also available from Chinese sites but for ridiculous prices. A pity you didn't check out the twin version Dom. We've made them up as up-sized versions of the Eachine Flying Fish. No motor in front to crunch and brilliant FPV cruisers plus highly aerobatic if you give them some stick. 🙂

Separate video coming soon for the twin version. This vid would have been too long if I had included it...

Hmm might have to give that a try.. Amazon has a kit with those orange motors, a esc, 2 servos, and 2 propellers for $30, $22 for the cheaper kit. It'll have decent power for those gliders

We do the same with the toy gliders from Kmart. They fly great.

The 99cm wingspan Cheetah glider is another good candidate for conversion.
@theoztreecrasher26472 жыл бұрын
@@ayoaina_fpv The Cheetah is good too but, being much more gracile, it makes a better motor glider/slope soarer than an aerobatic hotrod. These are more heavily constructed and can be wing-flattened and really beefed up for some wild flying. Or left with the dihedral in for geriatric Sunday flying. 😜😁
